We were the first ones to arrive with our Maltese. We were welcomed by a wonderful waitress, who not only served us but found our dog's leash. But back to the food. Just divine. We just wished we had gone here sooner since it was...just around the corner from where we stayed. The food as well as the presentation was superb. This is a MUST go to restaurant.More

Cádiz is said to be a city of tapas, and this was a wonderful place to try them. Delicious, beautifully presented, and so many to choose from! I will definitely go again. Tomorrow maybe ...

Wonderful experience from start to finish ! The waitress walked us through the menu and recommended some exquisite dishes. The Dorada was sublimely cooked and brought from the local market this morning and he cheesecake, also recommended, was divine ! Very attentive service, tasty home...cooked dishes and a chilled ambience.More

Thank you Lara and Miguel- I hope I have the names right. We ate at the restaurant and the bar side, probably 4 times and we will go back! The service excellent and friendly. The food was never a miss, hence why we kept going...back. We tried several dishes and also had their recommendation of wine. We are from San Francisco and can say we love this place and Lara knows it. I don’t understand the negative reviews at all.More

Very lovely staff; Thank you to May and Nyla. Stopped here for a beer and a snack. May was very helpful and they had gluten free beer as well as an allergen menu so my husband had a number of choices! The croquettes were lovely...and the potatas bravas very different. A nice place with great staff!More

Lunch on our last day in Cadiz. Absolutely fantastic all round. Firstly, the service from both May and Nyla was friendly and helpful. Despite our uselessness with languages and hope staff might have a bit of English, we generally translate well and understand but May...was particularly helpful and liked practicing her English....which was very good! The food, all tapas dishes, was fantastic. The Papas Alinas, Albondigas, Prawn Croquettes to name a few and delicious Albariño wine. Clean premises in a small side street. No idea about the sister restaurant nearby that appears to divide opinions but for a leisurely tapas lunch this was all that was required and as good as we’ve had through Andalusia.More

We actually ate twice at Sopranis - once at the restaurant and then we returned to eat at the tapas bar next door. The restaurant experience was excellent - not too formal, even though it's a restaurant with white tables cloths and dim lighting. The...maitre'd (Lara) was attentive and helpful, as was our waiter. We didn't have the degustation, but instead chose to start with some exquisite parmesan flavoured crepes, filled with prawns; followed by some poached hake; and some lomo bajo. We savoured the flavours of each dish slowly. The second two dishes were more traditional but really well prepared. The first dish was quite unique and a knock-out, in terms of presentation and taste. With wine and bread, our bill was just over 100 euro. We returned another day to sample the tapas bar. Even more casual, we sat on bar stools watching the world go by and enjoyed Flamenquin (beef rolls), Tortillita de Camerone which are both fairly typical/traditional in southern Spain. The show stopper was Carpaccio of Portabello Mushrooms - raw and thinly sliced, covered with parmesan and olive oil. With wine, the bill was under 30 euro. In both cases we thought it was good value for money - good food, good service and good experience.More

Perhaps I was expecting too much from a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant but our meal this evening fell very far short of our expectations. We paid over €240 for the ‘gourmet experience ‘ menu and wine match for 3 people. About half of the dishes...were of a good standard but the rest were no better than than in an average to poor tapas bar. The wines served added insult to injury Half a flute of cheap cava with a caprese salad A copa of manzanilla with grilled Langostinos was ok A reasonable ravioli of puchero was accompanied by a sweet poorly made petit verdot rosé A food salt cod dish was matched with a cheap verdejo and some grilled bull with a commercial sweet red The average portion was about 50ml and for 3 cost €54 The service was at best clumsy, dishes served 5 minutes before the cutlery and the‘matching’ wine after the dish was almost eaten. The waiters looked totally disorganised and need to learn that speaking slowly and loudly to someone that doesn’t speak your language is not effective communication....More

Great food. Went for restaurant and tapas. Love a place that takes great pride in their food. Would happily eat there every night. Could do woth kid choices but service was spot on. If going to cadiz we found like this place food is better...way from busier squares.More
