Both the food and the service were on average. Of course, the environment is nice but I think there are better places close by in the town.

If the weather is good, you can eat outside in view of the Frauenkirche. Otherwise there are tables inside, which are cooler in hot weather. The restaurant itself is in a restored baroque town house and serves authentic dishes. Five different Augustinian Beers are available...More

Just arrived in Dresden in a rainy day, walking around the usual tourist area. Prefer not to dine in this area because of usual tourist traps, and food is not usually good. Augustiner is an exception. The decoration inside is nice. Sharing a table is...More

This is a very nice restaurant in a great location - right by the Frauenkirche and not far from other historic landmarks in the center of Dresden. The food is typical German food, very good quality and very tasty. The beers are also very good!...More

Good food without being outstanding. Lovely setting on square. Nice pleasant and effective service. Good spot considering it's right in the tourist hub.

I don't usually hit restaurants dead within the tourist zone on old town squares, but it was a warm day and we needed a beer. For entree I tried a sausage that came out unexpectedly in a bowl of water. I expected it to be...More

We came to this place as recommended. We arrived and my girlfriend asked a waitress if we could sit anywhere, she very rudely responded to which we just laughed off. We then sat down and one waitress took our drink order but we weren't ready...More

Description
At home in Saxony! Loveably Saxon & Typically Bavarian Under this motto we welcome you daily from 10 am in one of the reconstructed baroque town houses on Neumarkt square in Dresden. Augustiner an der Frauenkirche has space over its three storeys in various lounges that can also be rented out separately. In addition there is room in the outdoor area, an open invitation to experience the pulsating life of one of Europe's most unique cities with a direct view of the Frauenkirche church. Friends of our Augustiner beer can choose between five different beer types, all of which are dispensed fresh from the barrel apart from the wheat beer which is bottled. Accompanying your beer you can enjoy the corresponding seasonally selected Bavarian/Saxon cuisine.
