My husband and I arrived at the Max Brown Hotel in the Marienstraße, dumped our bags in our room and went off in search of lunch. I had a couple of books with me "111 restaurants in Düsseldorf" and "Gutscheinbuch Düsseldorf" which contains lots of restaurant descriptions and vouchers. We were aiming for one of the more well-known Japanese restaurants... More

The restaurant is on a side street of Oststrasse, stacked away from the shiny, glamorous and more welk-known restaurants on the "Japan-town". The menu is simple, there's no sushi or sashimi, just good old japanese home-cooking. Most of the dishes can be served as a set menu which is good value. Though not a place for romantic candle-light dinner, I... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Normally when Naniwa and Takumi are full you can rely on that fact that you will fairly easily find a seat in this restaurant. For a couple of years, the tripadvisor showed this restaurant as "closed" even though it was in business. So I'm a little torn in writing a good... More

I have had lunch once or twice a month on average, and had a lunch today as well. There are two types of set menus of the day every day, and they are tasty, healthy and reasonable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is completely 'Japanese cafeteria', and we Japanese always feel comfortable for this. This restaurant is recommendable for a... More

Nothing fancy, but they have very reasonable set-menu for lunch, just like in small lunch places in Japan. Portions are not huge, but extra rice is free.

The quality of food is excellent. Friendly and nice atmosphäre. Love the amazing fried chicken and the spectacular noodles!! Superb service. This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf. Pretty authentic! Easy to reach by U-Bahn (Oststrasse). Not to easy to find a parking place during the working hours. Very good price for such a brilliant food. Definitely... More

My family and I visited again for the 2nd time tonight. The restaurant is a little hidden but worth searching for. I had 'tonkatsu teishoku', my wife had 'Sanma shio yaki', and the kids had 'Maguro Ika Natto don'. The restaurant looks like a typical Japanese eatery, but lacks a little the welcome and atmosphere. The restaurant is nearly always... More
