Good food and good beer - something you would expect in a good restaurant on Cologne. Very quick service. Of course if one expects high cuisine they would be disappointed but they never promise it.
This seemed to be more of a touristy type restaurant than others we visited. The main problem was the rude waiter we had the misfortune to encounter. We were four friends on a four day trip to the Christmas markets. Two of us opted for...vegetarian options, which he laughed at and made us feel uncomfortable. The food was ok and the beer was nice. He continued to be irritating when we asked for tap water, which apparently is priced at the same cost as the beer. When the €121 bill arrived we left a €10 tip, which he was also not happy about. He started ranting that a 10% tip was customary in Germany, which we knew wasn’t the case. His name was MIRKOMore
We enjoyed a great day at the Christmas Markets and were looking for a great place for dinner. Our hotel recommended this restaurant. Our German is not the best and our writer's English was about the same, but we made it work. We enjoyed many...beers and the schnitzel and the pork knuckle. The food was excellent and we had absolutely great evening!!! Danke!More
I have tried to get into this venue on multiple occasions during previous visits to the Christmas markets but it’s always been full. On this occasion I went with my son and father. The service was great, friendly and very efficient as you would expect....The food was lovely and just what we wanted on a cold night. I know now why it was always busy in the past….. it’s that good and friendlyMore
Without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite brewpubs in Cologne is Peters Brauhaus, been here many years over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this brewpub, interior is...as good as it gets in this gorgeous city, multi roomed, pubby decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar, wonderful wall art and as we were here in December for the run up to Christmas beautifully decked out for the Yuletide and all housed in a fabulous brewpub. We were here on a Thursday night, we luckily managed to get the table as this brewpub was packed ,one of the kobes deposited fresh kölsch beers from Peters Brauerei, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular brewpub. A big fan of the various kölsch beers served in this vibrant city on the River Rhine, the kölsch beers from Peters Brauerei are particularly good, golden, light and hoppy, bursting with taste and very easy to drink, it was just so good being in such a lovely brewpub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Peters Brauerei is easy to locate along Muehlengaße in the wonderful Old Town of Cologne. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11.30am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.More
Having visited in 2015 & enjoyed our meal so much we decided to revisit in December 2023. While the potato soup was still excellent our server was the worst. Unfriendly, & abrupt to the point of rudeness. We were never asked if we wanted coffee...or dessert, once our meal arrived we never saw our waiter again. Too make it worse we were given the wrong bill (double what our was), luckily we questioned it, we felt this was done on purpose. Will not recommend this restaurant.More
Perfect place to experience local food and local atmosphere. We enjoyed the pork knuckle and local soup (the soup was a bit salty though). Specific mark is that they poor kölsh unlimitedly (but still charge money though) Highly recommended Came here after 5 years again...and still liked it!More
Peters Brauhaus on Mühlengasse was one of the many pubs/bars and restaurants me and my twin brother went to on our holiday in Cologne and what a superb brew-house it is.Located in the Altstadt'this is a brilliant brew-house and one we have visited lots of...times over the years. This fantastic Brauhaus is housed in one of the most ornate buildings in the Altstadt of Cologne and impossible to miss and look's amazing especially when illuminated when this excellent Brauhaus looks inviting. It has a magnificent interior with brilliant stained glass ceiling in the main room and brilliant rustic furniture through-out it's interior and many interesting fixtures and features that are far to many to mention on a review. We have visited here several time's but this was our 1st visit since 2018 due to the covid pandemic and travel restrictions. When we visited here it was as alway's very busy but it didn't take us that long to get served. On our visit we had a couple of glasse's of the house-beers (Peters Kölsch) which were 1st rate and really well priced. This is a superb Brauhaus that's located in a brilliant area of the Altstadt and is really easy to find from the Rathaus tram/u-bahn stops its a minutes walk away.(This is my 1st review of Peters Brauhaus). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.30-23.00. Friday-Saturday-11.30-00.00. Sunday-11.30-21.30. Public Transport. Tram/U-Bahn Stop. Rathaus Tram/U-Bahn Stops-05.More
Absolutely loved this place. Food was excellent. Quite difficult to find anywhere traditional. Waiting staff busy and don't stop. Excellent
Beautiful traditional interior. We had a simple Schnitzel dish served with fried bacon potatoes and salad and we enjoyed it very much. The menus are either in German or in English. The staff was bilingual, very friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable. We certainly recommend...this restaurant.More
We wanted what we felt would be a typical German dining hall experience and we weren't disappointed. Great greeting and service. The atmosphere was warm and jovial and the excellent food served up quickly and efficiently. We thought it to be value for money. They...obviously work hard to make this a successful enterprise.More
Had an excellent lunch with great service. So good we went back for dinner! Food, beer, service all top notch.
We hadn't booked, so was really happy that we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Our server was a jolly chap. The atmosphere was as many of these traditional beer houses is loud and jolly. Food was good. I loved the...creamed cabbage. I discovered the grapefruit juice is not grapefruit juice. It is a wheat beer. It tasted like a very dry white wine. The Bieramisu is rather good, makes a change to the strudel.More
Lunch here on Sunday 3rd. Lovely building both inside and out. Food was good and our waitress was very efficient. Goulash Soup and Tuna Salad highly recommended!
