Very busy in here on a Thursday night. We were in a group of 10 and had made a reservation. Nice atmosphere and decor. Great sausages. We all shared a plate of various types of sausages, tongue, pork chop, port knuckle, sauerkraut and bread. All very tasty and meat was tender. All washed down with apple wine. They also have... The atmosphere outside was wonderful. We greatly enjoyed the green sauce, apfelwein, and Buble Bier.

The food was awful. My wife & I decided this was the worst restaurant in all the places we have been in Europe. Service was friendly and reasonably priced and was easy to get to. But the worst food I have ever tasted. Sorry just my opinion.

Popped in here for lunch after seeing the reviews on TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed. This restaurant is full of rustic charm and a simple German menu. Portions are vast - we shared a main and it was plenty! Try the apple wine / cider - an absolute must

Four of us visited the restaurant on a Thursday night. Lots of locals from Frankfurt. Menus in both English and German. They accept credit cards. Schnitzel with green sauce was delicious.

I went on business to Frankfurt but a friend took me out here. This restaurant is beautiful and classic both inside and out. We started with the apple wine and then went straight to have the beef shoulderblade with green sauce (delicious) and radish, of course as a side dish grilled potatoes with paprika. I do not remember how much... More

I wanted something and genuine to experience in Frankfurt. It was exactly what I expected of German pub life. Filled with locals, food was simple and plentiful. The schnitzel was a big as the plate and the beef tongue melted in your mouth. My only criticism was the apple wine tasted a bit of rotten apples and not so clean... More

When we arrived at this beautiful restaurant it almost looked like we would finally be able to end our search for an excellent Frankfurter style Apfelwein restaurant but, sadly, you won't find that at Zum Gemalte Haus. We made reservations for four earlier in the day and upon arrival were escorted back to a round table, which was so small... More

Hosted a relaxed evening event prior to a seminar in a private room for about 50 people. Very good service as we had a waiter allocated to us for the whole evening who spoke very good English and guided our mixed nation guest through the menu very well. I understand that it is customary to be a little abrasive to... More
