TL;DR If you're looking for an high end dining experience, this is *NOT* the right place for you. My wife and I ate in lots of michelin star restaurants as well as in other high-end restaurants. For us, dinner is the same as others consider a concert or a stand-up show. It is not just revolves around the food. It... More

An absolutely well-deserved reputation is proven by top-notch quality starting with the perfection of the cocktails at the bar and the elegance, refinement and superb taste of the menu. Immaculate service. One of those rare places where you know for sure you will return.

Went here for the purpose of introducing my girlfriend to fine dining. The expectation was a classical restaurant with classic food touched by modern techniques. To summarize that, they truly met and exceeded my expectations. When we arrived, our coats were immediately brought into the wardrobe if we so wished and we were shown to our table after being given... More

The cuisine here was delectable. I'd especially recommend it to conservative palates. The individual components are prepared in a classical way but served in small bites, enlivened by variations, and set off with carefully chosen condiments. Cheerful service. The seat cushions are rather hard and convex (typical 19th-century upholstery technique). The room is attractive and has a river view, but... More

Had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was exquisite, although we questioned the succession of dishes i.e. a delicate sea-bass after the very strong taste of a lobster bisque. Also, the sherry pairing with the bisque - although classic - was a bit out of place. Nice service, although the water pouring was done from a great height and... More

My husband and I had an outstanding dinner at this restaurant. Superb food, very continental in approach. Strong wine list. Attentive service. Accommodated us every though we arrived late and without a reservation. The room was very beautiful and attractive.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Louis Jacobs for a long weekend in Hamburg that we appended to a business trip. Some friends recommended both the hotel and the restaurant and we were thrilled about both recommendations. Our experience in the restaurant was fantastic. The dining room has an old world feel, but it didn't feel stuffy at... More

Were lucky to get a table on Friday evening as we hadn't booked in advance. (we were staying at the hotel). We all four of us had the steak (small portions for us, large for the men). They were all superb - perfectly prepared with just enough trimmings and a delicious sauce. We were offered small starters when we arrived,... More

Treated my father to a dinner at the restaurant, but started with drinks in the very quint and well-furnished bar (knows which condiments go with which type of gin). In the restaurant our sommelier took us familiarly through the lovely tasting menu that was varied, tasteful, exquisitely presented and sometimes surprising and with equally delicate wines to match. I remember... More

The restaurant feels a lot more casual then other restaurants at this level. Every course was a highlight. They let the food speak for itself without much "noise" around it. Service was great too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Thomas Martin and his team will continue to interpret original French haute cuisine in their own inimitable way. The menu will be based on superior, regionally sourced products, prepared with precision and contemporary techniques. The main product is the star, with appetising sauces to accompany it.
