So far the best and most fun meal in Berlin. In the Prenzlauer Berg area of Berlin which has lots of restaurants on quaint tree lined streets. There were 4 of us and he choose 4 different glasses of white wine for the first course and 4 different reds for the main course. All were great and the food delicious.

We enjoyed this place a lot, a very pleasant neighborhood place with good wine and excellent food. It was recommended by a friend who loves wine.

Quite out of the way towards Prenzlauerberg, this is an old Berlin establishment that presents a small menu of German classics, each of them executed with perfection. The spaetzle dish was remarkable. Their collection of German wines is practically encyclopaedic, with at least 20 different Rieslings. Maybe tourists still don’t know about this place, looked a bit empty, but if... More

A solid evening of delicious Germanic wine, food and cheese. I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed a night of dining this much in a long time. The service was excellent as was the kno ledge of wine of produce I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys food and wine!

I visited Weinstein for an early evening supper in June 2016. The restaurant was mentioned favourably in my Berlin guidebook so I decided to try it for my last meal in the city. I am very glad I did. They have an extensive wine menu and serve deliciously well-cooked, seasonal German cuisine. I had the pork belly tagliatelle and my... More

Great choice of carefully selected German and Austrian wines. Also the food was very well prepared, I tasted an amazing Brandeburger Plate, a nice selection of salami, ham and goat cheese. Wine lovers need to take care of this address, placed in the smart surroundings of Prenzlauerberg.

This was another recommendation out of our guide book. It was traditional German in every way, just as described. I had the meat and cheese platter and it was great. My wife had dumplings and they were just as satisfying. The menu was limited so don't expect great variation but what they had all looked good. The service was attentive.... More

Weinstein is a great place to explore Austrian and German wine culture. It has a very good selection of wines, in general, but its selection of Austrian and German wines is outstanding. For my point of view, it's a bit overpriced. The place has a rustic atmosphere and offers delicious dishes.

modest wine bar with excellent dishes. food is well prepared, full of flavor, interesting combinations, a bit rustic, but very respectable recipes and ingredients. the meals are mostly game, rich and filling, but with delicate wild flavors. The space is serene, and although wine casks and bottles fill the space bordering on kitsch, the staff is genuine and the atmosphere... More

If you are going to "LSD" corner, don't miss to jump in at this place. Great place for business dinner in relaxed atmosphere, with friends or with your dearest husband or wife. The menu looks small but well selected. Quality first. The waiters charming around with Berlin dialekt and in proffesionnel style. The offered wines are amazing. Well sorted, partly... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
