This place has great potential but it it looks like there is no captain in the ship. the food came out too early and than too late and was not warm, so they microwave heated the mash potatoes.... any way, the Goulash soup was tasty...More

We stopped by for beer in the afternoon. Location is good. Service is okay. Restaurant is nice and cozy. Restroom is really clean.

The food is authentic and of decent quality. The service is absolutely miserable — sullen and unresponsive. There are much better options for German food in this area if that's what you're into. Try Aigners for a fine dining experience.

Yes. It's touristy. And yes they serve Barvarian food in northern Germany. But we had walked miles to try and take it all in in the space of 3 hours post work. So I went with the local pop food, currywurst. And gurkensalat. And of...More

If you want to feel, smell and try real German cuisine this is place for you. After currywurst or sausage with cabbage and some fine beer you should order Apfelstrudel and you will know what hedonism is ...

I must admit it was a typical German restaurant and waiters were as well. The place is very big and food tasted good but a little too heavy and spicy for us. The service was quite good, but they don't understand English very well. At...More

Genuine German cuisine it is! We were ravenous and a pork steak was perfect to satisfy hungry travellers. Maximilian's offers tables front of house, in the main bar or in an atrium. We chose the latter on a cool Summer evening. Good move! Not expensive,...More

Chose this on our trip to Berlin as wanted somewhere that offered traditional food. The service was fast and efficient and the workers are dressed in tradition costume. It was very busy and obviously popular with tourists and locals alike which is always a good...More

We visited Maximilian's on our first night in Berlin, mostly due to its close proximity to our hotel (near Checkpoint Charlie). It was an easy walk. We were not disappointed with our choice. The menu is extensive and includes most of the expected German classics....More

Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

Description
Maximilians is cosiness personified! The restaurant has impressive copper and brass pumps and rustic-style furniture. It specialises in Bavarian cuisine, offering a large selection of good hearty food such as carpaccio dumplings and meat loaf, roast potatoes, fried eggs and Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes) served with apple compote. The waiting staff who are garbed in traditional Bavarian dress are constantly on the go, looking after the clientele of tourists, locals and Bavarian émigrés. This restaurant which is situated on the river Spree celebrates the Oktoberfest in September. The restaurant offers a selection of beer and wine.
