Lived nearby and had to visit because of the high score on trip advisor. Event though the setting was great and really kicked off our Berlin weekend I was kind of disappointed about the burgers. They were just average.

Had heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try when I happened to be in the neighborhood. I guess I must've arrived at the busiest time of the day because the queue was very long and the total wait from arriving there to getting our food was about 25 minutes. The food was good but... Not for me, overcooked chips, burger was ok but not better than many other American style offerings and the surroundings rough.

I wish I knew how to make burgers like these... so tasty! We waited for about 40mins to order but it was well worth the wait and I can understand why this place is so popular. The burgers are also very well priced. These points together with the location make a visit to Burgermeister a unique and enjoyable burger experience.

Yessss! They have found the right recipe. Simple and fantastic. No wonder the line was long 12 o'clock on a monday. Having to sit on narrow rails, or standing under the railway. But what a burger, od what a concept. Try it!!

One of the best burgers I've ever had. The quality of it was just brilliant. If you're in Berlin make sure you pop down. On a slight side note please look after your belongings, there are notices around saying keep an eye on your bag. We weren't the subject of any problems but you could spot gangs organising themselves &... More

Best burger in all of Berlin. It's worth the waiting queue and freezing weather. Be ready to share a table with strangers or just take out your food. I recommend the Cheeseburger with Bacon or spicy Chilli Cheese burger (love it). Prices are fair $$ (Photos attached)

Great burgers in a very lively area of Berlin. We had a bit of a wait, but not long. Great people watching.

If you love dining in unusual places then this is for you, the U1 transit train runs overhead and the location was previously a disused toilet but now a wonderful burger bar. The wait was about 20 minutes and worth it, a cheeseburger was just under 5e and the fries with or without cheese are plenty to share. Beer is... More

We arrived just after 3pm and queued for about 40 minutes. In my opinion it was worth the wait. The bacon in the burgers was incredible! I'd recommend going across the road to the kebab shop where they sell beer and buying a few to keep you occupied while you wait.

Thank Méabh O

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
