It read about this place before visiting the city, so it was included ln my "must visit" list. I went there on a rainy day, feeling curious and excited, and was attended by a lovely waitress who smiled to me as soon as I entered the place-nice and friendly staff. I decided to order a green tea and their eggplant... More

Lovely intimate cafe/restaurant. I am not a full time vegetarian, but I thoroughly enjoyed my spinach and ricotta cannelloni in a vegetarian Ragu sauce. Beer was long and cold. Puddings are a little underwhelming, but still have this as a favourite spot from our trip.

Chose this place whilst searching for vegetarian places to eat. Was mine and my boyfriends last meal in Berlin and it was definitely the best! The place itself is very relaxing with a romantic atmosphere. I ordered stuffed mushrooms to start and my boyfriend ordered lentil soup, which were both delicious. For the main we ordered a mushroom and garlic... More

Quaint, inexpensive restaurant. The menu choices are very creative , lots of exciting cooking and flavours. Would even recommend meat eaters to give this place a try..

I'm not a vegetarian but I was attracted by the unusual menu. I had the breaded artichokes with strong cheese sause and German style pasta. The quality was astonishingly good. It was well cooked and we'll presented and exceptionally good value. It is rare I give excellent ratings to restaurants but this one really deserves an excellent rating.

the food was a little slow to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. I had the chickpea polenta cakes and my girlfriend had the spinach balls with spatzle. both were hearty, filling and unique dishes with a huge depth of flavour. great presentation as well. the whole meal was very good value for money and the outside... This place used to have amazing food 8 years ago. I can't tell if it still does, because the arrogance of the waiter made us cancel our order and walk off. Make sure to only come here if you are in synch with all beliefs of its staff. Just as background: as we literally had been looking forward to coming... More

This restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes, all which sound amazing. There are vegan and vegetarian options, they definitely don't skimp on the portion sizes either. The service was fantastic, our server was the only one there besides the cooks and she genuinely wanted to give everyone the best experience they could have. Definitely recommend!!

This was the best meal we had in Berlin on this trip. We were 2 vegetarians, myself (vegan) and one omnivore and we all agreed it was fantastic. Highly recommended, we had appetizers (the rice balls!!! omg the rice balls!) and main courses. I got the vegan pizza, which I do NOT recommend, if you want good vegan pizza in... More

Took seats outside on pavement with a table which had evidently seen some service. Lovely street setting. The waitress (whom I suspect might have been the owner) spoke good English and was very helpful. Portions were generous - the tables are quite small and she brought a little extra table to put the additional plates on! The meal came with... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
