Sasaya is a simple and yet traditional sushi restaurant run by Japanese people who really seem to enjoy what they do! The sushi and all the other Japanese dishes that they offer are just fabulous and the service is perfect. Excellent prices! Highly recommended

Fantastic Sushi place with great quality and reasonable prices! Great sushi chef and super nice team! Never been disappointed. Great fresh sushi, New York style and traditional sushi plus a lot of great modern appetizers. Perfect place for a great evening!

I went there with my gf on a Friday night, the place was very crowded which led me to believe it would be great, as back where I'm from I can't recall such a long waiting time for eating sushi - more than half an hour. We ordered the chef nigiri (12 pieces), the traditional nigiri (18 pieces) and the... More

The best sushi in town. Love the sashimi omakase, always great. To make sure you get a table, better reserve. They're always fully booked.

Been to this restaurant many times. And their sushi is very good, nice atmosphere in a nice area of Berlin. On the downside, there very rude against children visiting the restaurant.

I've been going to Sasaya for over four-years now. It used to be the best sushi place in Berlin for a long time. I am not sure if my standards have got higher or the food has got worse but for me it isn't as good as it was before. The standard of food has risen so much in the... More

Unacceptable service. Among other things, we ordered a dish that includes 8 rolls. They served it by mistake to a couple sitting next to us (mistakes happen, no problem). Then, after eating one of the rolls, our neighbors realized it was not what they had ordered (no problem, it was not their fault), so the waiter came, apologized to us... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
