We were having a short break in Berlin and spotted this restaurant near to our hotel so popped in on a Saturday night to find it very busy but luckily they had a spare table for us. I am a big fan of Onoin soup and tried it and found it to be very good. There was four in our... More

We had a lovely meal here on the last night of our trip to berlin even though there were very busy they made sure to get us a table. The food was delicious, reasonably priced for the type of restaurant and the service was great. Would recommend to others - it was very convenient to our hotel (the Mercure) which... More

We went there to celebrate a family birthday for six of us. The final bill with two bottles of wine and a bottle of Bollinger was about £450 but the meal was superb and you get what you pay for. Its the sort of place we would return to if we go back to Berlin.

We had a lovely dinner at Entrecôte on Friday 24th March. We booked a table before we left Scotland. Meal was perfect and would definitely recommend the entrecôte major steak. Not cheap but well worth it.

Lovely interior and the service was good. Had a Filet which was great. Nice wine selection. Good place for a date, with friends or visiting relatives. Location is accessible to other things you may want to do after dinner.

The atmosphere is slightly upper class bistrot with very professional waiters speaking quite good french. The meat was fantastic, I like it raw - bleu in french -, and the fries allumettes were really good. The red wine - a côte du rhône - was OK but they could really improve the quality of the wines by the glass. I... More

I could never visit Berlin without visiting Entrecote with my good friends and enjoy the wonderful hospitality from Entrecotes perfect host, Gudrun. This is simply one the most wonderful restaurants in Berlin and the best French kitchen in town, I am certain about that. I have visited Entrecote thirteen times and the dining experience has always been unique. As I... More

The food was delicious, meat cooked to perfection!! Takes time to get your food, so don't go if you want quick food, but the service is lovely and it's worth it. Don't miss the chocolate fondant for dessert!

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
