This time I went with my charming companion to La Tia Rica (in Spanish: The Rich Aunt), a chilean restaurant in Knesebeckstr. The wine list and the menu of the day await you as well as the friendly waiters. At first we ordered something to drink and in the course of that our starters and main courses.
The drink was brought quickly, as was my forepeak: Tartar de palta con camarones (tartar of avocado with scampi on thinly sliced tomatoes). It was very well seasoned and the avocado also had a pleasant aroma. In addition some bread with coriander dip was served. My main course was fillet of beef with mirabelle plums with glazed onions and sweet potato fries, served with a sauce of roast beef. The meat was cooked as desired and still tasted very soft. The mirabelle plum sauce composition was very fruity and rounded off the meat taste well. The sweet potato fries were also solid in taste. The portion size is relatively small, but you still get your money's worth. The sanitary facilities were flawless, as was the rest of the restaurant.
To end the evening we had a kind of cider wine on the house and we ordered a dessert (Mousse de maracuya => white chocolate-passion fruit mousse on a base of almonds and walnuts). It tasted average so far, especially the fruit didn't really taste fresh anymore, which affected the price-performance ratio.
Nevertheless, for wine lovers and for friends of South American cuisine, definitely recommendable!

Looking for a nice and good place to have dinner in Charlottenburg, we found La Tía Rica. We made it to get a table for a saturday evening, as we arrived they welcomed us really friendly and nice. We had a pisco sour and gin tonic with a gin from Chile, they were good. We had some jaiba-empanadas as entry and they were really good, as they are deep fried thay can be a litle bit fatty. My husband had a rind taffelstpitz with a delicious sauce and I had a kind of a corn cake, both of them were really delicious and the portions were huge!
The wine that our waiter recomended was perfect, dry, delicious.
The service is absolutely lovely and nice and professional. We enjoyed everything.
You must reserve a table!

What better way to end a day then in between life-positive people, with a full glass of wine outside in the sun and dining through a menu that takes you far away. 😁 This time our meal took us to Chile. Between the pisco and the voluminous red wine we snacked away on a variety of breads and empanadas before digging into the ribs - on beef and one pork. No worries, the food was better than the presentation of the main courses. 😅 In our „Instagram-driven“ world it surprised me a little but it did not keep us from getting full and happy. 😁

A Chilean restaurant with high standards, but without being pretentious. The service is very attentive and courteous, the owner is on site.
The menu is very varied and complex. The fixed menu is very compact, but the daily menu is all the more extensive. This concept is reflected in the freshness of the dishes and their connection to the respective season.
La Tia Rica is a true delight of the South American way of life. :-)

I went to dinner at this restaurant with my wife and my sister (she lives in Seattle). The restaurant is a bit small but stylishly decorated. However, you should make a reservation before visiting. The staff is very friendly and helpful (e.g. when choosing food and drinks). All dishes, whether starter, main course or dessert, are stylishly prepared and very tasty. La Tia Rica is highly recommended and I will definitely go there again. Many thanks again to all the staff.

After making a reservation by phone, we received a very friendly welcome. We were given the last, relatively narrow table for two. When a more spacious table became available, we were immediately offered this.
The two starters (goat's cheese, salmon) were extremely fresh and had a great dressing and an unusually rich flavor.
The main course was also exquisite and a delight with the chef's wine recommendation.
The advice on the menu was very detailed and good.
We had a great evening.

We arrived too early for our reserved table. It was still occupied, but we enjoyed a pisco sour sitting at another table. Soon after our table was ready. The service staff was friendly and professional. We shared the ceviche of cod with sorbet from the daily menu for entrée (between 2) and I had the entrecote for mains. After a pisco from the digestive menu we continued by sharing the lucuma ice cream (delicious). Everything was well plated. The food was relatively good. The owner was delightful.

Luckily, we were able to get a table outside on the street in the evening without a reservation. Great dishes, e.g. quinoa instead of rice etc. There is also ceviche (it was a large portion as a starter) and lots of fresh fish. The wine recommendations were very good. A lovely evening!

Absolutely stunning meal here in this super cosy restaurant. Service was exceptional and this was by far our best meal in Berlin in the 5 days we’ve been here. Incredible range of wines and my husband enjoyed the Malbec (I enjoyed a couple of sips due to being 7 months pregnant). We were very lucky to get a table not having booked and arriving relatively early evening but I would imagine normally you’d need to book as the restaurant was full by the time we left. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

First time in my life that South American cuisine rhymes with gastronomy. Excellent Chilean restaurant in Charlottenburg. The daily suggestions they have complement the normal menu in an astonishing way. Excellent service. We will be back for sure.

The crowning conclusion of an eventful day in Berlin: Essen im "La tia Rica". We enjoyed it - the friendly and attentive service, the excellent food, the pisco sour anyway. When we are back in Berlin, we like to stop by.

Booked based on previous great reviews and our visit certainly lived up to them.
Quite small inside but delightful and warmly welcomed by staff and owner.
Delightful selection of daily special starters and mains expertly explained by the staff.
Absolutely superb wine selection at very good prices.
Food is wonderful, and the restaurant certainly deserved its high rating.
For a meal for four with wine it’s a steal!
