We came here on a company dinner. The food was tasty, but the portions were way too small. Service was not great either - slow and not with the right etiquette (there were 5 women in a total of 50 people, I was the only one at my table of 8, and I got my dish last). The white wine... More

Because this is just a few steps from the Brandenburg Gate, we feared it might be just another tourist trap. But, on the night we dined there, it was almost empty and the food and service were excellent. They also have a well-selected list of wines by the glass, as well as some better quality spirits and aperitifs. As Roger... More

Dined at this restaurant while staying at the Adlon. The food was very disappointing, especially my guinea fowl, which arrived rare. Flavors not good. The night we were there only 2 other tables were full, so clearly, this is not a well-regarded place. Cannot recommend.

For those of you who have experienced German service, this is not it. The service was very French, that is they clearly took pride in what they were serving and were concerned that we were enjoying it. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. As the food, I would rate between very good and excellent, not Cordon Bleu but... More

We visited here mid week so was very quiet when we arrived and most of the evening. Staff treated us fantastic and added to an enjoyable evening. The group of six of us or had a three course meal and all enjoyed every course. Me and my wife have the duck which was especially nice and the mixed starters which... More

Very elegant setting (beautiful chandeliers), black and white photos of French celebrities (Gainsbourg..) on the walls and French Chanson to accompany your dinner played softly in the background. Excellent attentive service and delightful food.... The Steak Tartare as a starter is a must! Extensive wine list.

We ate from the set menu, which was very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. We were sat in a quiet corner, which was perfect for us. Food was hot and of outstanding quality. Wine is well sourced and compliments the dishes they serve very well. Waiters speak perfect English and French and were very friendly and helpful.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
