For us it's a must go for every time we are in berlin. Best cakes - amazing cheesecakes and lovely breakfast! I recommend the lemon pie and the pancakes - delish!

Been there twice, nice selection and good coffee. The staff was very friendly even thought it was crowded when we came. A bit pricy but still good for a break.

We visited this cafe whilst walking between the Natural history museum and museum island, we'd read reviews and are cheesecake lovers! The service was polite and friendly, the cheesecake was great and the pot of tea we had was enough for 5 or 6 cups. The price was ok and we would definitely come back ☺

Definitely not the best place to take your family or parents. Cakes are tasty enough, but served on broken plates. Me and my mum came there late afternoon. Apart from us there were only 3 other people. For two baristas it took 15 minutes to bring us two cappuccinos. I would have understood if it was a 1 euro bakery,... More

The cheesecake was amazing. In a nice quiet area of Berlin that comes alive at night. Great variety but small location. Often fully packed...

Passed it by on the way back to town from Bernauer Strasse so popped in on spec. Cakes are wonderful and the home-made lemonade was just what I needed. Nice chatty staff too.

We walked here on a very rainy day and were grateful to head into the warm. Upon entering, we noticed around 5/6 tables which seated 2 people. The style inside comes across as classic vintage and all in all looks good. The seats are comfortable. We ordered 2 dark hot chocolates. You can only have either a large dark hot... More

I was staying a couple blocks away and found it on tripadvisor, since it was highly rated. Had a mohn cheesecake, didn't like it as much (pic attached). Then I asked for a caramel one to go, great choice! I just wasn't as happy with the service, the guy who recieved me was helpful, but I wouldn't say he was... More

In the cute area close to Oranienburger strasse, a nice place for breakfast or a tea/coffee breaks. Cakes are fresh and tasty. Coffee is very good too. Staff is friendly and warm. Small place so that can be overcrowded at certain moments of the day but they always serve you quickly. Such a place could have good success anywhere. Only... More

We decide to go there because of its high rate in tripadvisor but I think it is a bit overrated. The place is nice and cheesecakes are fine but it is not a very cozy place and maybe the guy who works there was tired that day but we felt like he wasn`t enjoying talking to you or serving food... We are deeply sorry that we couldn’t meet your expectations on that certain day. As we never stop improving our service, we're thankful for every remark. We'd very much like to apologize and hope you'll give us another try in the future. Kind regards Michail from Princess Cheesecake More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
