I've been here a couple of times. I have to see prices are quite okay especially for the lunch menus, food is good as well but nothing really special ! In the average i'd say :)

We decided to have dinner here on our last night in Berlin, since the tripadvisor ratings were quite high. However, in our opinion, there is nothing special about the restaurant. Staff is very friendly, but food is regular.

We sat outside on the beautiful Amdtstaße side and enjoyed grilled calamari, gyro, salads, etc. All were delicious and our waiter was charming and gracious.

One of the best restaurants ever visited. Incredibly hospitable waiters and hosts with a good sense of humor, excellent quality of service and amazingly delicious food and huge portions, even for children. Beautiful design and nice atmosphere. big menu. Highly recommend. I want to come back to Berlin also because of this place

I visited the Taverna Dimokritos during my last stay in Berlin. I love this restaurant. You can sit outside which is quite nice or you can eat inside which has wonderful charm and character - you feel like you are sitting in a family restaurant in Greece. The service is great and the food is very good. I have been to this restaurant three times and the problem is there are... More

We went there on a Saturday night around 10 and it was very full. Found the last table and then my girlfriend decided to order the Dimokritos plate plus a feta saganaki. We were surprised when a huge plate of salad arrived and she asked the waiter, in Greek, was this our order. Yes he replied, part if it! So... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
