View is ok, but hugely overpriced. Just to get to the restaurant with kids you need to pay ~60 EUR (2 adults + 2 kids). Food is not that expensive, but not cheap, and really nothing special. There is no absolute "wow" effect. Yes, restaurant is spinning around the tower, which could be somewhat unusual, but I don't think it's... More

Four of us had our lunch 'in the air'. What an excellent experience!! Shown straight to our table; order taken swiftly; drinks brought rapidly; our meals arrived in good time and were of good quality; the cost of the meal plus extra for the window seat still seemed very reasonable and we were not rushed. Staff were exemplary throughout. This... More

Its all about the view..not the food , which is OK, but hardly memorable. Unlike the view. Go on a clear day or evening or don't do would be my advise.

A spinning restaurant where you get to watch the city rotate slowly below is an amazing idea. Booking the earlier of the two meal slots, for late afternoon rather than evening, was a great idea over the winter because sun sets early so you get to see the city, the dusk and the night lights. Food was good; expensive but... More

We sat for a couple of hours at a window table watching Berlin slide by beneath us. The views were spectacular. Food and service were both excellent. Giving 4 stars rather than 5 because of value for money: it's an expensive thing to do if you choose to eat a full meal.

Needless to say, the ticket for the tower + dinner at the Sphere (I reserved a table by the window) is very expensive. However, the view is beautiful, service is very pleasant and food is much better than what I would expect in such a "touristic" place. Dinner with view of the city at sunset was really enjoyable.

The vieux is beautiful. You can see all of berlin from the air. Order your tickets before so you have not to wait in the long line. It's a stunning view from above!

We visited both the Sphere restaurant and the observation platform at the TV tower, located in Alexanderplatz. Although our breakfast at the Sphere was pricey (€24.50 per person), our meal was wonderful - service was excellent, food was very good and the 360 degree early morning views overlooking the city were spectacular. Recommend

Great building but their "entrance fee" is crazy. Was in Berlin recently and I really wanted to go up because I was up there back in 2005, but I decided not to because it is unfair they want people to pay at least 15€ to go up to. (I think if I remember correctly it was somewhere between 15-18€).

Thank Taha B

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
