Remembered visiting this place 4 years ago for a coffee - hunted it out again whilst visiting Berlin looking for coffee and cooked eggs - was disappointed at first to learn only option of boiled eggs. Upon further consideration of the offerings we chose the boiled eggs, croissants with homemade jams and a selection of antipasto (all vegetarian requested) including... More

I have visited this cafe numerous times and they have a great selection of parma ham and artisnal cheeses as well as home made pestos and salads. They have a nice assortment of balsamic vinegars and olive oils as well. The coffee is good and the sandwiches fresh--served on ciabatta bread. Nice people and a cool location in the hip... More

I went to Proviant for brunch and enjoyed the many possibilities of cheese, dried meats, bread, tapenade etc. Everything is high quality italian-like products, service was very friendly and natural and the coffee was great! Also the interior as well as the benches outside create a great ambience!

Having a wander around freidrichshain, I stumbled across this great wee deli/cafe. It was a glorious sunny berlin day and asked the gentleman inside if he could recommend a sandwich to go with a coffee, and what a job he did! He spoke with passion and wonderful enthusiasm about his ingredients and breads, I could hardly wait until my ciabatta... More

Start your visit to FRIEDRICHSHAIN at Proviant with a lovely breakfast or brunch. They specialize in Mediterranean food, but sell mouth-watering local specialities as well. Tip: don’t choose yourself, trust the ladies behind the counter to fix you a mixed plate. They fill it carefully with delicacies. For example we (a couple) were served different kind of breads, three homemade pesto’s, delicious cheeses, smoked beef, butter, olives, all served on a wooden plate decorated with berries and small tasty tomatoes. Including four hot drinks they charged us for about 20 euro’s. Tip them, they are absolutely worth it!

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
