This is going to be a different kind of review of mine, more like a trilogy, since I'm about to write 3 reviews about my 3 favourite schnitzel restaurants in berlin. You should check out 2 other places: Arema and thomas eck. Here is what i like about this restaurant, they have all this Schniztel you can choose, and you... More

Real German food and beer, not a fancy modern place. Be prepared for some challenging stuff like blood sausage, liver sausage and enormous pork knuckle. Wash it down with Dicker Engel own beer, light or dark and soon you will underatnd why the Engel (Angel) is Dicker (Fat). Defnitely the place to if you are in the area, but be... More

We are just under the butt of the Dicker Engel (Fat Angel). Funny view! The food was great, I really recommend the Schnitzel. My friends at the table said that also the Spatzle were good. House beer is excellent, and this is really a place where you can spend your evening chatting, drinking and eating in a non-touristy place opposite... More

The food was delicious, a magic trip for my taste buds after so many durums. It was a huge portion too and the price I would say is not bad at all. Compared to the low budget street food, this is not expensive at all, ~10euros is a meal but I would definitely suggest to come to this place

In Birkenstrasse with many quirky eateries, this place stands out with its authentic Berlin menu and ambiance. Try the Kartoffelpuffer for a light meal, a Berliner Weisse (beer) or a Rhubarb Schorle (lemonade) for refreshments. The menu includes Berlin stories and a history of the Moabit Quarter of Berlin.

We stayed nearby and this restaurant was always busy. We visited on a Saturday night when it was quieter. The food is very tasty German food: a huge variety of comforting schnitzels are available. The service was good and we did not have to wait for any length of time to be served. I can see why it is popular:... More

We were visiting Berlin for a few days from the UK and we wanted to try authentic German cuisine. This restaurant happened to be close to where we were staying and it looked ok so we gave it a try. We were so pleased we did. The restaurant was half full with a pleasant atmosphere. The menu was in German... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
