On a snowy Saturday night we visited this place mainly due to the vast gluten free options and it did not disappoint. Johnny was amazing and very accommodating to our needs and dietary requirements! The food was delicious!! With massive portions! Great value for money and lovely cost place! Thanks for having us!

Due to my mother-in-law suffering from coaelics, we visited Simela whilst in Berlin. When the five of us arrived, we were slightly concerned that we wouldn't be able to get in, since the restaurant probably seats about 20 at a push. However, within five minutes two tables had left, meaning we could push two together. My sister-in-law, my wife and... More

We had dinner here twice during our 5 night stay in Berlin. One night we each had gluten-free pizza and were really impressed by the pizza crust and that it wasn't too crumbly or soggy. I think the crust was made from some sort of buckwheat flour or something similar since it definitely held well. As for the second night,... More

A relief to find something gluten free! Pizza board came wrapped in tin foil which was reassuring for cross-contamination reasons.

I was highly excited to try the glutenfree pizza but it was underwhelming, it fell apart, and I have had far better glutenfree pizza options in the past. The wine was sour, the service wasn't great, the waitress forgot our wine and we had to remind her several times. Very small place, we had made a reservation but when we... More

Me and my boyfriend, who are both coeliac, loved this place. We got gluten free pizza and gluten free beer which were both delicious - the crust is thin and made from buckwheat, and there are plenty of options for toppings. The restaurant is small so you may have to reserve a table, and I think most of the chairs... More

I arrived in Berlin and had to wait a couple of hours for the hotel room to be ready so I decided to go for lunch in the meantime. Being vegan and gluten intollerant I looked in advance if there was any option close by but the place I wanted to go to was closed. Luckly I found this one... More

We went here for a gluten free option. The crust is thin and made of buckwheat. The restaurant is very small so reservations might be required. I did not get to try the gluten free dessert option. Staff are friendly too.

Ate few dinners in Simela past week and I must say I really like the concept: Easy, clean, friendly and of course very tasteful pizza with also good gluten free options available. I'd definately eat there again!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
