I ate at Quarre with one colleague during a business trip, and we were both very pleased. The food is very good, but the best thing is the view. You can't eat closer to the Brandenburger than that. The waiter was very nice as well. Overall, a very nice experience.

First the location is spectacular. Overlooking Bradenburg Gate. In the hotel of the famous Michael Jackson dangling his kid over the railing incident. The restaurant is very formal looking but service is surprisingly unpretentious. We had the business set lunch at it was very reasonably priced for a 3 course meal. The meal came out quite quickly and we were... More

I suppose it's a little unfair to rate this restaurant as we did not have a meal there. We did however have a drink there and the experience with outside seating was very pleasant and the wait staff very attentive. The atmosphere, however, I don't think warrants the prices charged for meals

Dinner at Quarré followed by a cigar on the verandah and then a stroll around the Brandenburg as the sun sets (summer time) is an unforgettable experience. The place is at the Adlon so it is as good as it gets. The lavatories downstairs are magnificent. You could stay there for hours reading the book you'r bought at The Topography... More

This is a nice place. It's a very nice view to the Brandenburger Tor. The atmosphere is nice, but there it ends. The service is snobbish and very slow, and the prices are too high for a restaurant like this. It simply doesn't suit it. Then to the food. My wife had a beef, very red even we kindly asked... More

Dined here during a stay at the Adlon. This was one of the best meals that we had in Germany. The carrot soup was wonderful, and my salmon was perfectly prepared---moist and delicious. Other restaurants in Germany served salmon well-done, which usually ruined it. Nice service & lovely ambience.

First, the place is gorgeous, tables are far apart, and service is impeccable. We had the "businessman's lunch," which was a prix-fixe three-courses. We enjoyed a crème of artichoke soup and cantaloupe with "dried ham" (prosciutto); a lovely entrée of plaice (white fish) and not-so-lovely beef croquettes (meatballs, really); banana chocolate dacquoise and cucumber/kiwano/buttermilk dessert. I didn't have a clue... More

Visited this restaurant as a special last night treat after touring Saxony and Berlin. I must confess I was expecting something special as I'd always wanted to dine here. We all chose the Asparagus menu which was ok. The boiled potatoes could have probably done with another couple of minutes cooking. The ambiance was fine but the service was very... More

The setting is elegant, the food is very good, and the service is professional and polite. The view is unparalleled and for dinner, exquisite. String near the large windows at the corner of the restaurant, we had a perfect view of sunset over the gate. It was just amazing and was the centerpiece for a lovely dinner.

Choices on the menu are varied and easy to choose something to appeal to everyone. When weather is warm it is lovely to sit outside.

The Quarré takes its name from what was once a market place, and which we now know as the Pariser Platz. The restaurant, which is in the Hotel Adlon Kempinski, has the feel of a Parisian brasserie. On offer is a selection of delicious dishes that are characteristically French, and these combine with a range of popular classics to offer a unique culinary identity. Come to the Quarré for lunch, a business meal or dinner, and enjoy sumptuous lobster bisque, traditional tarts, a refreshing salad Niçoise as well as some delicious mussel and oyster dishes. In the summer, sit outside on the wonderful terrace and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Brandenburg Gate.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
