Nice river-view cafe with an interesting middle Eastern menu. Well prepared entrees and good drink list. Beautiful location next too Museum Island which makes for an ice lunch spot.

We stopped here for a quick lunchtime snack. We were a bit worried when we saw that a group of 20 students and sat down just before us, but our food arrived quickly, service was excellent and the food was delicious. It was just warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the view over Museum Island. Highly recommended.

We came here a couple of times, the waiters are friendly and it's a great relaxed atmosphere by the river. Food is cheap and the hummus is to die for - highly recommend!

Very good location overlooking the park and the river. Central for other places too. Specialises in grills and oriental dishes. Prices good but service a bit slow and carefree. Very nice to sit in their deckchairs in the park after lunch and watch the world go by with a digestif in hand.

My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant on our way looking around the sites of Berlin. The waiter was VERY rude. He forgot our bread that we ordered and instead of apologising seemed to be aggravated about the situation. We then asked for some tap water and he brought us two glasses. At the end of our meal we... More

Hungry, just left a Speer river boat trip across river from Berliner Dom, walked back to grass & trees and couldn't resist pizza @lunchtime price of 6 euro. Lovely thin crust pizza and plenty more to chose from. Menu was an Italian Levant selection and looked really interesting. It was busy, buzzing but with good service. A great find.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
