I had a good Schnitzel and I was supposed to get a soup but it never came, even after asking for it.. I know it can happen but it should be managed more promptly. Also the prices are a little too high in my opinion but that depends on the fact that it is located near Friedrichstr. probably.

We spotted Nolle when exiting Friedrichstrasse station on our way back to the Melia hotel and hit on a gem. It was busy but we got seated quickly. However, attracting a waiter to give us menus and then take our order was a bit of a challenge - but we were not in a hurry. Once achieved the service transitioned... More

This is a lovely little restaurant we found right on the doorstop of the hotel we were staying at. The service was great and were very friendly. The menu had a selection of authentic German food. The food was of a good quality and reasonably priced.

I visited this restaurant twice while visiting Berlin, as it was very close to my hotel (Hotel Melia). It serves some traditional German dishes such as curry wurst, schnizel and, being vegetarian, I opted to try the jacket potato and quark. The meals coming from the kitchen looked delicious, all served with lots of salad or vegetables on the side.... More

Very nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere ( kind of spies meeting point in the 60's), nice staff and good food.

We were a table of six and the service was nice and fast. The menu is basic German fare, including eggs sunny side up on spinach. Including dessert, beer and three schnapps: 175 euro.

Located underneath train tracks the place is a bit noisy but has some charm. The food is traditional, the servings generous and tasty; their vegetarian lasagne was also appreciated but our veggie kids. Pricing is fair, service was good, overall a place to recommend.

There was nothing bad about Nolle. In fact, the food was fine. And it seemed to be very popular. It just didn't seem very German. It could have been a Cheesecake Factory. It looks like it's in a converted train station (which apparently it is). But it seemed more touristy than authentic.

A mix of German and Art Deco situated under the S-Bahn station of Friedrichsstrasse. Limited menu. I had a mixed platter of German food such as Wienerschnitzel, sausage and sauerkraut. Ok, but not more. A big plus for the very cheerful waiter though.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
