Terrible experience. I ate vegetarian pizza and drank Staropramen von fass 0,5 and I don`t know what happened, but after two hours I started puking and didn`t stop all night. Awful ! It was my first food poisoning in life and I don`t recommend it to anyone.

I can remember the first time when I went to this place. It was well known to serve the best Flammkuchen in Town. Now years later visting Berlin I made that trip to this restaurant again with my family. I was really looking forward to the best Flammkuchen in Town, but unfortunately the change their menu and the prices (which... More

The ambience is good,, no doubt , but the tables are placed to "maximize" the profits. So privacy is NIL, with the exemption of the booking of the "window-table ". And by stating "maximized profit scheme" you can fill in the rest of the story yourselves : hurrying to get it on your table-not too much on your plate-hurrying to... More

We ate at Maison Blanche as it was recommended by our tour guide when we asked him for his favorite restaurant in Berlin. This does not seem like a tourist place as it is somewhat out of the way in a residential area. We took the subway there with no problem. Our waitress could not have been more pleasant. Our... More

The food was very good, the service very friendly, but they don't accept credit cards (as of Sept 2014). A block from the Metro station, with very reasonable prices. Informal. A locals place.

We came here about a year ago, thought it was good, then forgot about it. We just went again and were really impressed. The Cote de Veau was creamy, perfectly cooked and absolutely huge. It came with beautifully cooked tomatoes, sweet potato and aubergine. And the sauce was amazing. Mrs. M had a lovely North African beef stew which fell... More

We went on TA recommendation, but were disappointed: took a while to get the menus (not yet excessive). Limited choice of "evening fare" and a warning that things were being freshly cooked and could take time - a good sign. I certainly didn't expect to be out of the place within the hour - but I did expect to be... More

Ive been eating her a few times, both at lunch and dining. Atmosphere is cozy and friendly, food is good and tasty. Working myself as a chef in Copenhagen I was not surprised by anything that came on our plates, but was positive to recognise honest workmanship and good balance of the courses. Very good from here and I will... More

The food was amazing, choice between french traditional food and north african food. As starters the green taboule with merguez is a must. The hummus is not high level, but great hummus is nowhere to be find in Europe anyway. I was amazed by the pastas maison blanche which tasted like in Italy and their flammkuechen that tasted like in... More

Good to very good French bistro-like food. Nice wine selection. Neighborhood feel and casual. 3 course menu for 27 EU is good value.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
