Sunday dinner for 3 adults was quiet disappointing: cyplenok Tabaka (Tabaka chic) was completely wrong: it's supposed to be a whole young chic, melting in your mouth, instead, it was half of chewy, rubbery chicken which reminded of grilled chicken, but less tasty. The ucha soup was nice, but nothing fancy, the bread surved was a bit too dry, and... More

Nice restaurant located in a square with small park opposite. Food was good and reasonable prices. Wine also reasonably priced (given restaurant pricing!) Portions can be a little large so be prepared.... glad I didn't have a starter! Staff were friendly enough with my friend speaking some 🇩🇪 so broke the ice a bit. Tables are a bit close together... Friendly staff. Nice food. Bit funny that I managed to pick a russian restaurant in Berlin when my family in NZ founded the communist party there...lol. Anyway we shared the dumplings for dessert and that was the way to go, BIG portion but delicious.

The Potemkin used to be one of my favourite places. The food is still very good and the prices are quite affordable. I was with a friend for breakfast on a sunny Saturday. We had to wave the waitress several times to be noticed. She never gave us a smile. It was more important for her to clear up empty... More

The food is really good, but the service, THE SERVICE..... that was a Saturday morning, so, not a crowded place, we made our order, and 40 minutes later, asked the waitress about it, and.. jaws down, " its about to come when it's ready" yes no apologies no nothing, so 50 minutes waiting for 3 breakfast and finally she brought... It was my second time here. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere with a view of the Viktoria-Luise park. Great to visit during a nice weather, so you can sit outside.

We had a late breakfast at the Potemkin by the Victoria Luise square. The menu is quite large, so everyone will find something. Fairly good value for money too.

I have eaten here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time however, the food was nothing more than okay, and the waitress had a face like a smacked backside. As with other reviews I've seen here, they clearly favour some customers over others. In all honesty, I wouldn't bother visiting this place again.

The Potemkin is an institution in Berlin. Quality and service are always good. The view of the Viktoria-Luise square is very nice. I will keep on coming.

Thank Martin G

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
