Nice experience with Ethiopian food and good service from the staff. The food was very good. Took some time getting the food and drinks but they never seemed to forget us. Recommended.

If somewhere is packed out on a Wednesday evening, it's usually a good sign, especially with plenty of locals. The food was excellent with good vegetarian options, the service was a little slow as the place was full and there weren't many staff, but that's not a problem as long as you enjoy the company of others! Good value as... More

very popular and well visited restaurant. Book ahead! Main Meals 11€. Nice gravy with meat pieces. But check out if sides come with meal. Some don't have any. The typical bread you use to dip and eat with is like thick crepes but not sweet. not very tasteful though for me. Food was interesting - good. Meat dishes looked like... More

While I discovered me and my girlfriend are not fans of Ethiopian food, I'm still glad we gave it a shot! I would still recommend people to visit Bejte, the exposure to a different culture and the distinct way of eating is a worthwhile experience. But keep an open mind that the type of food might not be your thing.... More

I lived there for a few weeks, and, as I never had Ethiopian food, I was curious to discover it. I finally manage to get there one evening with a friend. The woman was very nice to us, and, despite the fact we didn't make a reservation, she managed to find a table inside for us. We were even on... More

Had dinner here last week. A real experience never having eaten ethiopian food before. it was really quite tasty. the owner seeing us struggle with the menu suggested a platter for three which was ideal. very filling and tasty. he was very attentive and offered us cutlery, to which we declined and manfully carried on with our fingers....great fun. the... This was one of the best meals I have enjoyed for a long time! My wife and I had a sharing platter so were able to sample chicken, lamb and beef dishes alongside various other vegetarian concoctions, all served on a big silver platter, with Ethiopian bread (more like a mega pancake). Inside was beautifully decorated in Ethiopian style though... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
