Lovely German food with great beer. The atmosphere was bustling but relaxed and the impromptu live music an added bonus

Great place, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas, but still close enough! We went saturday night and the place was packed. Luckily snagged a couple of spots at the bar. You can make reservations, but we were too slow to get one in! Great range of drinks, beers, cocktails, etc. Great atmosphere. Nice and warm... More

We had a few drinks here in the afternoons, it was lovely to sit outside as the street has a really nice atmosphere, as does the bar inside. We didn't eat, but the staff were friendly and it was a comfortable little place to sit down in. It has loads of cool kitsch decorations inside.

Ate here on a sunday and the place was packed. We managed to get a table and ordered some food. The food was really great and tasty, I had som pork brisket like meat with sauercraut and potatoes and my company the schweinschnitzel. Great staff and nice location.

In Berlin recently for the Marathon and looking for good food, we found this gem of a bar/restaurant. The menu is good wholesome German food, service was spot on and the place had a really friendly feel.

Excellent selection of authentic German cuisine and drinks. We managed to get a table at around 7PM without a booking but the place was filled to the brim by the time we were leaving. They also have a bar where you can wait which has a great selection of Germans Beers and some surprisingly nice German wines. Our waitress spoke... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
