Having visited all the restaurants in the city and having been in Schanbel a few times I can easily say that it is one of the best traditional German restaurants in Würzburg. The food is traditional with generous portions and food quality. The wine variety is also very good with lots of local wines that are worth trying. The staff... More

Went for a family dinner and got a nice table to seat! Very good service, good english, good beer and good food! Best place to have a local food experience in this area. The Wild Schwein Bratwurst is expetacular. The main especial dish of schnitzel is a must have! The dessert is awesome as well...

We went to Schnabel because it was nearby our hotel and highly rated on TA. It was somewhat busy when we arrived but had no problem getting a table. This is a small place and not really a pub although there were 3 bars tools at the bar/counter but no one sat in them. Our waitress was a young lady... More

Visited this place at the start of our Romantic Road drive, and we were very surprised! Our waitress was lovely and helpful and gave us English menus. The local wine fills the goblet to the brim and is delicious. The soups particularly were impressive, we had the cream of wine soup, and the liver dumpling in broth, both of which... More

We were there on Saturday night and we were lucky to get a table for four people as it was really busy there. I liked the atmosphere, it wasn't too loud although almost all tables were occupied, there was no music and the pretty waitress was very helpful and friendly and it didn't take long until she came to our... Very traditional German place with local specialties and a focus on wine. That sounds like a good recipe, but the greatness reported by other reviewers is not apparent to me. The food was a bit dull; there are other places serving German food with more devotion I think. Service and price level were good.

This Weinhaus is almost opposite the Hotel Barbarossa where I was staying. English is spoken which was a help and the waitresses were welcoming and friendly. The place was busy with locals but the service was good. The food was plentiful, enjoyable and reasonably priced. Main meal and beer E15. The downside was that they close at 2pm on a... More
