Restaurant was very busy when we passed in the afternoon but looked so good we went back in the evening and were lucky enough to get a table. Meal and wine were excellent and service first class.

Whilst sightseeing in Wurzburg before starting our drive along the Romantic Road, we stopped in at Alte Mainmuhle for lunch. The restaurant was very busy with locals which was a very good sign. I had a nice big plate of sausages with fried potatoes. This was excellent and just what I wanted for my first meal in Germany. The sausages... More

Stopped here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and delicious beer. Starter: cream of asparagus soup (of the seasonal menu). Main course: pork steak with dark beer sauce, cream Savoy cabbage and dumpling. My husband ordered the spare ribs. The food was delicious and the pork just fell off the bone. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed the... More

This was one of the most enjoyable sessions we had in all of Europe. We had a fantastic guy serving us and I still feel guilty because I didn't give him as big a tip as he deserved. The beer was very nice and the food was excellent. Wurzburger sausages which were yummy and a view to die for looking... More

Dinner was okay, crowded place, food / menu somewhat uninspired, but okay. Big portions of food (too big for me). Les volume and a bit more creativity or attention to detail would help a lot.

I think the best for this restorant is the potato soup..it's creamy but not to oily, savory, and nice, even for Asian taste like me..the scenery outside the building is very nice..you can see the palace from the bridge that is located beside the building.

We walked from the Novotel in town, a 20 minute walk but very nice and worth doing, the location is superb and a great view of the river and interesting view. The food is great. The service is fine. We booked as we were a big group and there was a mix up and we waited outside for awhile, but... More

I have visited Alte Mainmuhle twice, once in 2012 and the second time in December 2016. First, I am a softy for fireplaces. This place has at least two, a wood burning stove just inside the entrance and a full fireplace at the back after you walk up the stairs. I just have a soft spot in my heart for... More

The restaurant is beautifully designed and has nice view over the old bridge and its surrounding. It is a quite romantic to dine there given the strategic location and ambience. However the food served by the restaurant was average and tasted more to the bland side (Have only ordered two dishes, one fish and another sausage platter). Maybe there are... More
