Over the past couple of years work often took me to Munich, and I stayed at a hotel near Dantestrasse. This became my go-to place for dinner and beer. Service is friendly, food is good, and the beer is excellent. My staple dish was the Schwabenpfandl, which was consistently very good.

This is Munich as you are looking for. Local food and beverages served with kindness and a very cozy place to stay. The restaurant has a very interesting history and is definitely a local place for locals and of course some tourists that find the way. If you are looking for a typical bavarian cultural beergarden, this is one of... More

I wouldn't say the Augustiner am Dante is great in the sense that it presents anything special. If you're looking for a decent traditional German meal at a place that sells the best beer in the world (in my opinion), the am Dante isn't a bad spot to go. The one item that definitely stands out, aside from the Augustiner,... More

Visited here for dinner on a Friday evening. Service was fast. Food came in very generous portions; was delicious and reasonably priced. One of the best, simple and wholesome dinners I've had in Germany in my last 30 years of visiting.

A very good experience. The wait staff were friendly and genuinely helpful with us as non german speaking tourists. The food was well priced and made. Wiener schnitzel in particular very tasty.

Visited this place with group of co-workers after b2run - I would rate food as average, since there was nothing special about it and price was little high for it. But service is totally different story - waiter could not remember who ordered what and final checkout took him more than 20 minutes, since he was processing only 3 person... More

We ordered the daily special plus other trad Bavarian specialities, and were faced with enormous portions, which we had problems finishing. The food was freshly prepared so no complaints!!

This was a wonderful beer hall to take my girls. They seen first hand the stamtisch and the men having their songs and giant beer. The decor was very nice, dark, typical of a beer hall. The food was wonderful. I found the waiter to be more available when I switched from English to German, so I think he might... More

A regular dining place for one of my German colleagues saw me make a visit for the Beef in Beer Goulash which he highly recommended. We arrived just before 8pm and shortly after all tables were taken and people were having to wait at the bar. Seemed to be a popular place to eat and then just sit and drink... More

In keeping with Augustiner tradition, this restaurant has all the warmth, cosiness and tradition of a real Bavarian inn. On cooler days and evenings outdoors guests can dine outside and enjoy a freshly tapped Augustiner beer or an early evening drink, thanks to the outdoor heaters. The Augustiner am Dante serves seasonal and traditional Bavarian cuisine. Quality and freshness are key priorities for the restaurant. From Mondays to Fridays you can choose from the weekday lunchtime menu and the main menu. The weekday menu has dishes which are particularly good value with prices ranging between 5.90 and 8.90 Euros. You will also be served Augustiner beers, Prinz Luitpold dark and light wheat beer and alcohol-free Clausthaler and Erdinger wheat beer. The Augustiner am Dante also serves Augustiner beer from the barrel and special treats every Friday from 6 pm onwards. The Augustiner am Dante is particularly well regarded in terms of quality of service and its friendly and considerate staff dressed in smart Lederhosen and Dirndls (the Dirndl being the traditional Bavarian dress).
