This restaurant is in a good location in the center of Aldstadt with plenty of outside seating on a warm day. The Wiener Schnitzel was very good but the Obatzda was dry. Unfortunately they do not serve the local Mittenwalder bier or brezen.

The food was very German, thats both good and bad. The Meat was amasing, but many other things was just bad. We celebrated New years Eve at alpenrose and it sure was different, the German live music was so loud it was almost torture, and it went on 5 hours, so if Theres no live music, i can recommend this... We were advised to go to this restaurant by a local and everything was right on track to be a great meal until the very end. We were two Canadian expats and two Italians, well-travelled and we would like to think of ourselves culturally-aware. Apparently we made a huge, punishable error by not including the tip when handing the bill... More

It's not everyday that one can dine in a 16th century restaurant, but that's the setting at Die Alpenrose. Located in-and-outside of the Hotel Alpenrose, there is evidence that both Martin Luther and Goethe may well have broken bread and lifted a stein in this very spot! Die Alpenrose delivers on the charm like none other with a collection of... More

We ate here instead of the restaurant at the Hotel Post next door. We have stayed at this hotel for many years but the quality of their restaurant has sadly declined over recent year. In future we shall always come here to the Alepnrose. The food is hood quality and reasonably priced. It was October and there was a good... More

We ate in the bar and there was plenty of easy going friendly atmosphere. The food was cooked to order and was delicious. The hotel is in the pedestrian area, so easily located.

Since we were staying at the Alpenrose and we knew of the their reputation for food, we asked for a quiet table for 2 at 7:00. We were taken through a full restaurant to a table that had been reserved for us. The dining room opens earlier and seems to fill quickly. We were given our menus and drink orders... More
