This place USED to be incredible! The food was excellent and the portions were huge... Now, the food is 'ok' at best and the portions keep getting smaller and smaller but the price is steadily going up... For example, the Shrimp Spaghetti they are famous for is a much smaller version and the price is now 15.80 Euro!! There is... More

The waitress was super nice & attentive and she speaks fluent English. Food was good, the tomato soup with gin was really rich and yummy, Tiramisu christmas version (without the liquor) was also very nice. My beef steak was also good. Although their decoration was a bit unusual for a restaurant and more like a homey antique store (even children's... More

I don't know why this place is ranked so high. They serve basic Schwaben food, but nothing special. The location is not convenient. Very far from any train stations and there is no parking on site. The interior of the restraint is odd too, and it’s not so romantic. The only good thing is the restaurant owner speaks English really... More

I was a little surprised to read that this restaurant is ranked number one in Stuttgart... this is a nice cozy place in a side street, but I would not recommend it for a big party, or if you have a guest to take out! The food is good and the portions are big, prices are reasonable, and the look... More

We had a two day, unscheduled, delay in Germany, and some local friends recommended this place for dinner. It earned its #1 rating. My only disappointment - I am not sure I would be able to find it again LOL Spatezel was fabulous - like I remember grandma making. The sausage and salad was great ! Everyone in our group... More

A low-key, neighborhood restaurant with food so incredible you'll want to go back again and again. Everything is homemade with care and it tastes like it! Favorites include...spinach spaetzle, shrimp spaghetti, cheese spaetzle, blueberry tiramisu, christmas cookie tiramisu, regular tiramisu, white asparagus soup, seasonal mushroom specialties, seasonal venison goulash, then there's the schnitzel, great service, and cozy atmosphere--all best in... I had eaten at this restaurant multiple times while on work related trips. My job changed and I do not travel to the Stuttgart area for work anymore. I recently was on a Mediterranean cruise and managed to figure out a way to pass through Germany primarily so that I could eat at this restaurant again - it is that... More

From the wonderfully cozy atmosphere to the absolutely spectacular food, Busnauer Hof delivered the best and most memorable dining experiences I had during my trip to Europe. Detlef is a wizard in the kitchen. I can not recommend his potatoes and garlic/mayonnaise sauce appetizer highly enough. I had Schnitzel with Spatzle covered in a fresh wild mushroom cream sauce that... More

The rank speaks for itself. Delicious, flexible and amazes your palette. Flexibility that surprised us - we were told if you wanted a specialty plate that the chef creates, you can call ahead a few days for the request (spare ribs, Sauerkraut gulasch, etc). We had the Pork steak with herb butter and the sliced beef steak with pepper in... More

We discovered this gem 11 years ago. When we left 8 years ago, we missed it more then anything else in Germany. Fantastic food & friendly service. Upon our return, we were welcomed back with warmth and excitement. We would walk 12 miles, in the snow, uphill, both ways, barefoot, to eat here.
