Restaurant/bar with lots of people nearby the market. Went here for dinner around 9 PM and it was full of people. Wanted to try the pork knuckle and it did not disappoint. Also - it is a BIG knuckle with lots of meat, so starters will not be necessary and I almost believe that two adults can share one and... More

We were looking forward to eat at this place. It was quite busy so the blonde waitress told us to wait a bit. After 5 min. She said that it was full and that we can walk around the block for 20 min. And said that there will be a table available by then. So we agreed and walked around... More

Friendly staff who all spoke English well/understood our broken German. There was also an English menu and a kid's menu too. We had the pork knuckle and the sliced turkey with mushrooms and spaetzel (German egg noodles). Portions were big and the food quality was good. We were a party of two but the restaurant obviously caters for big groups... More

We called last minute and they still managed to cater for a table of 10 at 9pm. The steaks were great and beers too, the staff were very friendly and I certainly left full.

Mixed because I had a really good salad with beef and mushrooms that was full of fresh flavours however my husband had the sausages dish which were very bland and one dimensional with very little mixed flavours. So 1 good meal one & one not at all good. Nice setting though and very popular so get there early or prebook.

Located in the centre of the 'Alt Stadt', this restaurant serves up traditional wholesome fare. Yes, it is full of tourists, but they all seem to be enjoying themselves! Staff are very friendly (and busy), and the portions are very large (be warned !) Schnitzels are excellent, and prices are reasonable. Probably not the venue for a romantic dinner.

We had lunch at this restaurant on a very cold December day and found the atmosphere and food wonderful. The staff was also very nice.

This restaurant was our family's favourite after touring Germany and France for 4 weeks. The steampunk/ historical features develop the atmosphere. Down the back there's a disco ball and bar set up with an old millstone for a table. The crispy pork shoulders we ordered were enormous and succulent. The schnitzels were also huge and tasty. Service in Jan for... More

My family and I visited the place some time between Christmas and New Year 2016 for our lunch. We wanted to get some taste of the typical German cuisine and it was delicious! The atmosphere was cosy: it is like you enter a mountain tavern somewhere in the Alps (and the ones, who have been in Heidelberg, know that sightseeing... More
