We went for dinner to L'escentiel last September with friends. An unassuming restaurant that had been recommended to us by locals. We found the menu interesting. The chef takes pride in serving dishes from the area such as a soupe au pistou, petits farcis and other specialties from Provence, very importantly using seasonal ingredients. Food was very tasty and the... More

Food reasonably good and a relaxed environment. Too much salt in the sauce. However, friendly and helpful service.

This is the place to eat when you've been travelling for a while and you're tired of eating typical restaurant fare. That's not to say this food is unsophisticated - quite the contrary- but it still feels homely and warm. There are perhaps 4-5 choices per course. The service is delightful, and the chef pops out of the kitchen to see... More

The small but daily changing menu is full of unusual but well executed dishes. I very much enjoyed an excellent Fois Gras with sweet corn and onions, followed by Tripe with Chorizo, whilst my partner's Risotto with chestnuts and Butternut squash was also memorable. The Fig Tart was a great end to a very good value dinner.

how the chef Charles Semeria does what he does in such a small kitchen is amazing and he has the time to come out and chat! !!!!!This is very very good cooking whatever you choose from the menu and there is always a vegetarian option even though the menu is small He makes use of local produce depending on the... This small restaurant has a limited menu as the chef cooks passionately using locally sourced available produce. What he produces he does superbly and very obviously from passion form the care he takes t check n with every table throughout the evening. Highly recommend for beautifully presented, delicious food served up in a relaxed environment.

This tiny restaurant has a limited, but fabulous menu due to the chef preparing it based on the very best produce available locally. Great combination of flavours throughout the courses and lovely attention to detail, all served in a very chilled out environment. Restaurant was packed during our visit, and every subsequent time I passed it, so would imagine booking... More

Great meal, small, well-run place with a varied yet precise menu prepared weekly by the chef owner. He has a close eye on what is going on both within and outside his kitchen and it shows. All food was delicately prepared to a high standard. Booking required.

We found this at the end of the holiday, we are so upset we hadn't found it earlier. French cooking , a delight. The sea bream risotto and rabbit stew were amazing. The Melbourne to die for.

This could easily be a destination restaurant. A reservation is essential (No pun intended) Highest quality market fresh cuisine at very reasonable prices. The tourte of rongon de Veau with spinach was an excellent starter as was the very filling Tartare de Boeuf. one main was as good as the next and we decided in the Lamb Shoulder cooked at... More
