My wife and I had our last dinner of our vacation at this great small restaurant. Reservations were needed even on a Thursday off season. The place was filled with locals. We had the tasting menu and it was excellent. Very reasonable prices for what you get. Very friendly professional service. Highly recommended

We had dinner at this restaurant one night last week and chose it because of TA reviews. The reviews were spot on. Our waiter spoke English well enough to help us with our choices. It is not a big menu but we had no trouble deciding on our meals. We both had the lobster bisque for starters which was a... More

I had a business dinner last week in this restaurant. It is located downtown , in a pedestrian area full of bars and restaurant with a laid back atmosphere . We were a group of 8 and we decided to go for the 6 plates degustation menu. This set menu is 48€, with 6 dishes (1 starter, 3 dishes ,... More

L'Epicurien was recommended by our hosts who are huge enthusiasts for organic high quality produce and ingredients & they were so right. Everything was delicious, unusual and therefore delightful- I kept jotting notes to remind myself to try to copy each thing. Generous servings (I hate precious restaurants where you're given one incredible scallop for a main course), reasonable prices... More

A superb reasonably priced meal in the main dining square in Aix. The starter comprised 3 small separate portions of Oyster in Raspberry, puréed Octopus with Avocado & soused sardine with chopped onions. This was followed by a main course centred on Castagnole (fish) & an excellent glass of Languedoc Blanc, ending up with some exquisite ice-cream. All of this... More

We are staying in Montpellier for two weeks and this was hands down better than any of the highly regarded establishments there. One sits in the main dining square in Aix and we got a 48 euro tasting menu which was sublime. Monkfish with celery mousse, goat cheese and chickpea purees, more monkfish, duck and two Desserts. Everything was superb... More

This is an excellent restaurant - no question. The duck was overlooked but everything was so delicious that it doesn't matter much. The chef is a true professional. Great local produce cooked simply. Beats a burrito, that's for sure!

Food is remarkable (I recommend dégustation menu), wine list is excellent, service is very good (friendly, quick). Perfect place for a business dinner or with friends and family. In the summer the terrace is nice.

All 5 of us had wonderful food and this was the best Veal I have ever put in my mouth. The salads, rabbit appetizer and wine were deliciouss. The setting is on a beautiful square and the service is great, despite there only being to servers for the entire place. You will not be disappointed.

Came for lunch and sat outside in the square. Relatively limited menu, and they were out of 2 of the roughly 8 options. But a good burger and solid sampler plate with gazpacho, salad, a bean salad, a coleslaw, some duck, and a chicken wrap of sorts. Solid.

Description
This place is a hidden gem. The owner is the chef and he only uses fresh produce and he is extremly talented. We just spent 8 nights in Aix and after eating at a couple of restaurants none of them came close to this place. They friendly and the food is just amazing. This restaurant should be on trip advisor without a doubt. His food melts in your mouth and the flavors are out of this world. The owners are Ludovic & Laura Aillaud
