Called in on Sunday lunch service, we hadn't booked, the place was quite busy with a nice atmosphere. Excellent starter of beetroot tarte tatin followed by a grilled ham (which is unusual for France) good homemade chips and a duckling breast on a bed of parsnip mash. All really good, especially the starter. Selection of mini desserts, the star being... More

We spotted this in Central Poitiers. It is in the sort of area near the main attractions that make you doubtful that you will get a good meal at a sensible price but we were not disappointed by the meal at all. It was tasty, served promptly and in a pleasant cafe atmosphere at the end of the lunchtime period.... More

I rated this establishment as best of Poitiers. This time they managed to prouvé that nothing is forever. Sashimi of scallops and oyster in an oyster shell, no taste whatsoever, nothing. For a city close to the sea and oysters are face flavorful on their own. Opted for the Spanish burger with the monchago cheese, they ran out of and... More

I dinned here twice in one week, it is clear that the chef owner is a food passionate. Nothing is disappointing, I enjoyed every single bite. Too bad for me, I stopped eating red meat, I know that he excels with hand picked meats. Excellent by the glass wine selection and reasonable too. Impeccable service by two lovely ladies, chef... Very nice meal in Poitiers. All 4 of us had something different from the menu and it was all really nice. Good size portions and reasonably priced.

A group of 7 decided to give this restaurant a try having already had 2 excellent meals on the previous evenings. Although the restaurant is small they made room for us and provided menus in English for those who wanted them. The menu was varied and the food was first class. I had the Fois Gras to start and the... More

Those guys restored my faith in finding an eating establishment that fits my standards. For 10,50 euros you can have a simple lunch that will satisfy the most demanding customer. A succulent flank steak that is freshly cut prepared to your liking served with roasted potatoes and lettuce, followed by " îles flottantes " creamy, light and flavorful. Other limited... More

It's hard to review a restaurant that positions itself so strongly at two ends of the spectrum. The tuna carpaccio was downright horrible and tasted like the refrigerator, as did the tomato gazpacho, which was either too sharp with vinegar or starting to go rancid. However, the leg of lamb was superbly prepared and wonderfully presented. What happened here? You... More

A hasty service, keen to clear the tables to end the shift. The result was lots of table-cloth removal and cutlery collection right whilst we were eating (at about 9:15 pm). Food mediocre at best - odd combinations, for example deep-fried shrimp (reconstituted) with pieces of chewy steak in a kind of salad bowl; scallops with bits of fried liver.... More

three restaurants in the near vicinity and this was the one with empty tables which, to be fair, did fill slowly as the night proceeded. Probably makes some sense to follow the crowd particularly when many of them were locals. The menu was unexciting - a pretty standard offer and pretty standard cooking. Portion control on the first course was... More
