Fantastic food in a great venue!! Service was impeccable! All dishes from starter to dessert were of excellent taste! Scallops were cooked to perfection, followed by pork chop (porc noir!) deliciously cooked and the chocolate tart is just divine!!!

Stunning restaurant with really helpful friendly staff. We've had many good meals in France whilst we've been travelling around, but this was exceptional. The restaurant decor was really the epitome of the Belle Époque and worth visiting even without the wonderful food and wine!

I just cannot understand how this can be as low as 73. The interior is a national treasure, literally. A magnificent example of belle epoque style. We ate here twice, and on both occasions we found the service good and the food excellent. It is not particularly cheap but we felt it represented good value. We definitely recommend it to... More

What a shame - great venue - but lousy service - the waitress was too busy to serve - so we missed out out on our ham, cheese and fresh fruit - it was suggested we should take home in a bag! - will not go back ever!

Given the location on Place du Capitole and the fantastic decor, you know you are going to pay a price, and that is perfectly acceptable. But we walked away after 3 courses, disappointed by the overall standard of the food. It is not bad, and perhaps my expectations were too high, especially on a Sunday evening, when my French friends... More

I went to Le Bibent based on the suggestions I had gotten from locals I was meeting with while in Toulouse. I tried their coquille Saint-Jacques and a plate of foie gras, and it was absolutely stellar. The service was a bit slow even though I had made sure to arrive early for the night (8pm when people usually have... More

This Belle Époque grand café had always been the power table of Toulouse. It was here that Jean Jaurès wrote articles for La Dépêche; politicians pontificated at these tables and for the great and good it was the place to be seen. More than 30 years ago Le Bibent's interior was classified as a national monument. On a previous visit... More

The ambiance, the service, and the food, of course, are fantastic. And if I was planning to assassinate Austrian royalty in the early 20th century, this is where I'd have lunch! Sorry for the lame historical reference, but look it up. No matter, Le Bibent is a great place and you can wander around the square after dinner.

So... The location is fabulous. The terrace is lovely even if the lighting is a bit stark at night. Food was definitely very good and not expensive compared to location. The management of staff is a bit chaotic. We were seen by five different servers but still needed to chase for things and remind them of things they'd forgotten. The... More
