Visiting Metz we decided to have lunch in this place because it looked like "local" It is a bit outside the main commercial and shopping area behind the cathedral. The atmosphere is pleasant and simple. Almost like a bistro with the tables perhaps a bit too close together. I suppose this has also advantages as we started to talk to... More

I had an excellent dinner! The Assiette Paysanne is a very rich charcuterie mix, and it was of high quality. For some people it may in fact be enough for the whole meal. I also took the duck breast with mushroom sauce - truly excellent, and served with abundant side dishes. Frankly this would have been enough food for two!... More

We both had the plate of the day filet mignon de porc with an accompaniment of gratin. We were both pleased with the pork in gravy with cauliflower. It was moist and flavorful. The side turned out to be potatoes au gratin,we weren't sure because neither of us speak French. They were very good with more garlic than some might... More

Located in the city center close to the City Hall and Cathedral, Le Dauphine is a very nice French restaurant. The menu is quite small but various: meat, fish, salads. Friendly staff, quick service, they cook with local bio products. I had the beef (bavette d'aloyau), prepared rare as I wished, it was really tasty, the Gratin Dauphinois (kind of... More

Le Dauphine is the only Metz restuarant I returned to for a second meal, because Metz has gazillions of lovely good restaurants and we were set to try them all. The sausage couscous plat in the first lunch was so delicious, the terrine and crudites entrees so generous, the price so modest that we returned a few days ago before... More

This place was recommended by someone in the tourist office and is very close to the tourist center. The food was excellent as was the service. Will definitely go back if ever in Metz again!

Had dinner here. The place has a small menu with simple dishes. The atmosphere is friendly and the quality of the food is quite OK. The impression I got is that the place is mostly frequented by locals so no tourist trap and that's a plus.
