Very pleasant steakhouse in the old town of Montpellier. Good wine list and selection of different steaks. Courteous and friendly staff. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Would highly recommend.

Small restaurant with Gault Milau awards, run by two friendly sisters. A choice of different types of beef, well prepared, with the beef being the center piece of the meal (not hidden somewhere in loads of fries and salad like you may face in the...tourist oriented restaurants). Although there is a nice wine list, we ordered the ‘wine of the month’ which proved to be a very good choice (of the sisters). And had a very good well proportioned mousse au chocolat as dessert. Prices a little higher than average, but real value for money.More

I had a rump steak of which 50% was fat, and when I mean 50% it was the left half. I asked for a glass of red wine to accompany it - this was truly vinegar. When I told the staff they did not care....If in Montpelier for a nice steak this is not the place to comeMore

We wondered where we could find high quality beef in Montpellier and stumbled across Angus et Bacchus, on a small side street, near the main thoroughfare of the Grand Rue Jean Moulin, which intersects with the Rue des Loges, which in turn is right off...the Place de la Comédie. In other words, easy to find, if a little off the beaten path. The old world architecture and quiet atmosphere was just what we were in the mood for, and the combination of three different kinds of grilled steaks really hit the spot, served as they were with fresh vegetables and salad. There's a good wine selection here as well, and the women who run the place seem very comfortable in their milieu. We'll be back!More

I found this hidden place without looking for it, it was time to eat and I did not want to spend a lot. J'ai trouvé ce petit restaurant caché sans le chercher, il fallait que je mange et je ne voulais pas dépenser trop d'argent....J'ai commandé la formule à 19 E . I ordered "prix fixe" for 19E. J'ai eu une bavette de Hereford avec petit légumes sauce au beurre maison. I had a Hereford steak served with mixed vegetable and butter sauce. All for excellent: Tout était parfait. I ate everything, including the dessert Charlotte à la Chataigne; also freshly made. J'ai tout mangé , le dessert Charlotte à la Chataigne aussi. Faite maison. Reservations are strongly advised in the evening: Closed on monday, no more than 10 persons on week-ends.More

This is a sxmall restaurant in a small alley near place de la comedie. The place resembles an old vault cellar with a clean decoration. The dishes were of excellent quality, very good meat prepared as ordered, the side dishes tasty and plenty.

This establishment delivers on the quality of its meat, mostly beef but also lamb. The Argentine beef was tasty and accompanying chips well cooked. My lamb was tender but served lukewarm which detracted from the pleasure. The gratin dauphinois with was slightly overcooked and dried...out. The desserts were well cooked too but not cooked at the same time so the moelleux de chocolat was again too cool. The restaurant had only 3 tables to serve when we were there so I wonder how the chef would cope when it is busier. Overall a pleasant tasting meal but tightening up on service times would have improved our enjoyment a lot.More

I went there for lunch, after considering a few times other options - the big issue was that in May, their limited outside seating did not have any sun over lunch. This may be an advantage in the heat of summer, but in spring and...autumn this does not do them a favor. I went for their lunch offer, 19 Euros for a steak and a nice salad, and was very happy with it. Service was very friendly and speedy, and my steak was cooked exactly as ordered. They have a few wines by the glass, I went for a red one that I liked.More
