We last visited here in 1988 and here it is still as good as ever all these years on . We were welcomed with open arms by the same chef and his wife . The lobster was full of flavour just as we remember it.The wine list has been chosen with care by the patron who has selected for quality... More

I am always staying in a hotel in that neighborhood and knew I had to try Les Marquises as I always the restaurant - TA's reviews were good too... The food is very good (I had the medaillon de lotte - and the raspberry soufflé) and wonderfully prepared - but what surprised me the most was the unassuming delightful service... More

Have visited twice and have been pleased both times. Each time was with a group - we were well taken care of - food was delicious. They do offer an Early Bird special and it ends promptly at 7 p.m.

Found by accident ,went to the street and asked if there were any tables and they fitted us in. The food was freshly cooked and each course was a treat with the owner taking pride in the food served . The wines served are not expensive and the service good not fussy and the owners took a pride in serving... More

The food may not be world-class, but it is certainly old-fashioned, rich and tasty, in a style that so many restaurants have left now. Therefore it is so pleasant and reassuring to come to this 130-year-old establishment, suck in the authentic 1970 atmosphere, knowing almost exactly how each dish will look and taste. Not much has changed here, and I... More

Our son found this restaurant on Trip Advisor, which was close to our hotel in Montparnasse. The food was really excellent, very fresh, very tasty. We had great service as well. It was a bit overwhelmingly hot in the restaurant, which detracted from the meal. I would go back again, just in cooler weather. Reasonable pricing and large menu.

A friend had said that we had to try this place and I must say he was not wrong. Very good food and fantastic service. The seafood is prepared and presented beautifully. Will be back on our next trip to Paris

we had a great dinner last night with friends. In the famous rue de la Gaité (close to Montparnasse railway station and some theaters. We had great foods such as duck foie gras, seabass supreme with truffles, good french wines and fabulous raspberries soufflé. It's a gastronomic place with the Chef learnt with the famous Chefs Troigros. A good restaurant... More

We stumbled upon this gem after the restaurant we had intended to visit turned out to be closed. We scored a table for a Saturday evening, somehow, and proceeded to have one of the most enjoyable dinners of our travels. The hostess was kind enough to speak to us in English, as our French is poor at best. We began... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
