First came le garde robe, and the rest followed... the first and still the foremost bar a vins nature (though there is now a nice inclusion of some more mature bordeaux and top burgundy... busy so get there early. Staff sometimes a little rushed of their feet..! Great atmosphere but perhaps an upgraded stereo system wouldn't hurt...:)

We are in search of wines without added sulfites or tannins and so we enjoyed sampling a selection of French natural/organic wines. We found that it is an acquired taste and we need more time. Europeans allow the addition of sulfites and tannins, unlike the US. The server was polite and accomodating, the bar itself a rugged but comforatable space.... More

Staff were so rude, offered v cold red wine and when we were asking about it got a rude and awkward response from staff. Would not go back.

Great place for. Glass of wine, cold beer and something to eat. Try the citrus beer, by the glass, it's interesting. Wine sold by the glass or bottle. Interesting menu.

Came by for a cold meat and cheese board with some wine for dinner. Classic Paris wine bar with a great atmosphere, a must do

Fun little wine bar in the 1eme - perfect for a night cap (or two) after dinner at Racines 2 or Spring. Happy, helpful service.

Small but cozy restaurant with a great variety of french wine. Short but interesting menu with good, savory dishes that are made for sharing between friends. You'll have a nice time for sure. Make reservations because the place is small. Beware that you pay a cork service of 7€/bottle of wine

they are pretty much on target ... . Yes, you can sit out - and inside (very small inside and not much space outside). Food is simple meat and cheese platters and you can ask for recommendations from the waitstaff (of which a couple have an attitude or two but others are really good/patient/helpful) etc. Went there a couple of... Really enjoyed our visit here. Lovely wine and platter. Has a really relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy conversation. Quality meat and cheese on the platter. Must go, 10-15 min walk from the Marais. Nice.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
