Very well located, we went in because we saw the oysters. Imperatric and belon oysters were fine. The lamb and steak tartare simply bad. And service, what can I tell ??? Almost inexistence. Waiters came when they wanted, simply no attention at all

I felt welcome, alone for lunch this monday. I had a ceasar salad and a glass of Sancerre blanc, both very good. Service was timely and friendly The place has a fine oyster menu, which it would be nice to try. I also does have a nice menu for dining. Free newspapers. Can be recommende.

The problem with this restaurant is the inept and arrogant service. The quality of the food is decent, but it arrives cold when it should be hot, or the wrong dish arrives, furthermore it is too expensive for what it is.

Les Grandes Marches is located next to the Opera Bastille ... convenient for a lunch or dinner before performances which is why I return. The restaurant is very popular, consequently busy ... so either arrive 'early' or book a table. However, the turnaround is reasonable if you can wait. The menu and wine list are extensive and should cater for... More

Popped in for a late nibble/lunch one afternoon having an omelette with a bottle of cote de Provence rose. Then the next day at lunchtime proper where we took a shady seat outside to watch the world go by. We chose the same wine but had fish and chips, this was fries with fish goujons which I thought were very... More

Excellent dinner here prior to visiting the Opera Bastille. We had a first class 3 course dinner although the service left a bit to be desired.

The location is fabulous! We had an upper floor table looking out with a spectacular view. Try the chèvre starters & the sole meunière! Delicious! The waiters are not very attentive but arrive eventually. Mojitos are nothing to write home about!

Wowed! Were not expecting huge things from a large brasserie next to the new Opera house in La Bastille, and we have been most pleasantly surprised. Very fresh oysters, a lovely salad and a steak&frites, a small but good wine list, very prompt and friendly service. Would come back any time. Highly recommendable!

I spent there my last evening during me recent trip to Paris and I remembered that evening very well. Very nice, comfortable, cozy place to have a hot drink on the cold evening. I would definitely recommend it. Prices are normal for the restaurant this good. I liked it!

Description
Brasserie "Les Grandes Marches" is right by the Opéra Bastille and has been through a seriously befitting update since the new owner took over in the summer of 2012.The lounge spirit is out and the hallmark composed class and lighting that define great brasseries is back. The Art Deco influence is undeniable and the spirit intertwines with the Opera and its "grandes marches" (great steps) that gave this establishment its name. Once you step into Les Grandes Marches, the word that comes to mind is serenity. You leave the Bastille's hustle and bustle behind, loosen up and take your time to enjoy life on the handsome, firm, fleshy benches and watch the waiters' ballet among the curving and broken lines around the room – starting with the curving grand staircase that smacks of a tux-and-tie dinner on a transatlantic liner.
