Let's start from the quality/price ratio: Terrible. We were 2 and we shared the "fromage manchego" (4 thin slices of manchego), the "Assiette de tapas" (1 small slice of tortilla, 2 croquettas, some anchovies, 4 slices of jamon iberico) and we drunk a 1/2 liter of sangria. We paid 45.40 euros. Fortunately we had some bread included, so I did... More

Friendly staff, good ,affordable wine and food! Funny and intertaining guitarist duet from 9pm. We ate , danced, drank and re-drank in this place that feels just like Spain ! A classic gem in Paris! Embrassez vous ! The phrase that the duet keeps on repeating all thrue out the night! ;)

We found ourselves in this area of Paris for two reasons; We were doing a bit of a literary walk of the city and Ernest Hemingway lived with his first wife Hadley just across the street at No 74 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, while James Joyce lived at No 71 when he wrote Ulysses. The other reason was that we... More

Two guitar players, a flamenco danser, Spanish décor and atmosphere combine to make this restaurant a perfect choice to celebrate a Birthday ! Lots of animation and laughs here! The paella with large shrimp is quite good. The other choices on the menu are also tasty ,served in generous portions. The sangria was perfect, and with the promotion proposed by... More

Great atmosphere, wonderful Spanish food in the middle of Paris. You have to catch the night show, the two guitarists are great fun and the flamenco dancer unforgettable.

Yet another great Parisian find. The restaurant is conveniently located just a few steps away from the place de Contrescarpe, across the street from the famous Hemingway's apartment on rue du Cardinal Lemoine. What makes El Burro Blanco a very special place is the sincere warmth and friendliness of its staff combined with great prices and very decent food. We... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
