Called in for tea and a pastry in the afternoon. The selection of classic French patisserie is superb, my pistachio St Honore was excellent. House blend tea was perfect accompaniment. Service formal. Surroundings refined. Expensive, but you've got to treat yourself occasionally don't you?

This is my second time visiting the shop and it is beautiful! The pastries look stunning and the macarons are delicious!! I had the cherry flavoured and although expensive it is worth the money. The staff are friendly and helpful. We visited at Easter and it was busy with tourists and locals.

Laduree's flagship Paris store is a little worn, but standards are still high. Serving perfect pastries and great coffee/tea in a plush, Victorian setting, Laduree is everything you want in a tea room (and there's a take-away location next door for the inevitable box of macarons to take home with you). Perfectly located near Hermes, Gucci, etc.

We stopped by for cake and took home a box of 12 macarons. The cake and pastry were just delicious. The macarons were good and packaged just beautifully, however I regret disproportionately filling my box with the salted caramel. The flavour was ok, but was really missing the saltiness that comes from a good salted caramel. The raspberry, ginger hearts... More

Madam, Mister, We are happy to read that you appreciated our delicacies so much. Still, we are sorry that you did not appreciate the macaroon salted butter caramel as much as the others. Waiting for your next visit, Best regards. Pascal P. Operation Manager More

this was literally the first place we stopped after a 14 hour two flight trip to Paris (we were waiting for our hotel room to be ready) and were delighted with it. Perhaps because we just landed but we had terrific pastries and our first taste of Parisian macaroons!. We did not eat in the café but it looked wonderfully... More

The shop in Rue Royale was the first bakery before the expansion started. Nowadays there are shops spread all over the city and abroad. Signature pastries are the world's best-known macarons. I highly recommend to try it!

Dear Carla C, Thank you for your comment giving a very good advice to everyone : try our macaroon ! The rue Royale Boutique is indeed the first Ladurée boutique, which opened in 1862, and we are putting great efforts to keep the same atmosphere and the same quality since. One of several members of Laduree family, this upscale tea and pastry shop on Rue Royale is within steps of La Madeleine, the rue du Faubourg St. Honore and all the exclusive shops at place de la Madeleine, including Fauchon and Hediard. A perfect place for a delicious pastry and coffee, it is also a good place for a light... More

We had a delightful lunch and, of course, the most delicious macarons for dessert. Definitely worth a trip for the ambience.

I loved the macrones! I tried the lemon and the chezuan pepper. The lemon was quite sour, I like that. The chezuan pepper was interessting and different, still very good. I will be back!

Description
"AN EXEMPLARY BACKGROUND - the history of Parisian tea rooms is closely linked to the history of the Ladurée family. Everything began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, man of the Southwest of France, miller of his state, created a bakery that became a pastry shop, at 16, rue Royale in Paris. The highly theatrical decoration will be entrusted to Jules Cheret. THE FEMININE TOUCH - under the second empire, with the development of Parisian cafes, Jeanne Souchard, wife of Ernest Ladurée, had the idea of mixing genres: the café and pastry shop, giving birth to one of the first of the great Parisian salons. INFINITELY MORE THAN A PASTRY SHOP - this place full of history with a refined atmosphere charmed David Holder and his father Francis, founder of the Holder group. They decided to buy and then promote and expand the famous Establishment, the Mecca of Parisian culinary creation."
