Wondering around Place de la Nation, I dropped into Le Dalou for lunch. Ordered the fish and chips. The fish was a wonderfully cooked and tasted delicious. Next time, I have to try the oysters.

We were in this restaurant on 15 April together with my mother and our friends. The restaurant specializes in seafood but they also have very good meat dishes on the menu. We ordered a plate of oysters which were surprisingly cheap - 24 oysters for 20 euro. The prices were good (compared to other restaurants in Paris), food was delicious.... More

--that turned into a very good lunch. We had the mussels and the choucroute garni. The latter was heated at the table and had very generous portions of meats. We would consider another visit.

We called in for dinner. We were given a pleasant curved corner table at the back. Complimentary crispy shrimps (which were tasty but fiddly), bread basket and water. We both ordered steak. Both tasty but mine was thicker and not quite as tender as my partner's. Very good pepper sauce and fries well cooked. Confusion over desert. Partner ordered profiteroles... More

We just went there for a drink. They have a good IPA beer from Paris. The service is good (which is rare in Paris), so just go here. Atmosphere is relaxed, not touristy.

Situated on Place de la Nation, this authentic French restaurant is always busy with an excellent choice of seafood, meat and a very good value wine list. The wine is available by the glass, 25cl, 50cl or bottle to suit all tastes and pockets. Waiters help you out if your French isn't very good. From the traditional onion soup to... More

We stopped at Dalou because of its privileged location at Nation and attractive look. On the go menu we took scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and 2 Brouilly glasses. Fine but nothing more. No expresso because the coffee machine was KO ! Vague feeling that service and decor are fading away at Dalou. It's a pity.

The place was just okay, old, not well kept and with no charm, tables are way too crowded, service was bad ( a waitress passed by me and dumped ice on me and did not even bother to apologize as she picked it up). The food was bland, there were four of us and only one thought their food was... More

The service is terrible, the waitress left as we did not decide quick enough, did not try to help or advice us. Afterwards they did not have tools for the crab and she was again rude and arrogant. Food is really not good for Paris standard. Worst service ever! Do not even bother going there!

Honestly, if you want the truly Paris bad-attitude-type-brasserie, you will find it there. Impossible to get a welcome from ANY of the servers, impossible to get a seat where we wanted, impossible to be treated like a customer... I've never seen this of my entire life. You want to get a special garbage treatment and pay 10 euros for two... More
