Been accustomed to Asian centric dishes , we've always found that most continental food tend to lack in taste. We decided to visit this place based on the reviews from fellow travellers . We had the pike dumpling, duck breast and scallops. With wine the bill came up to 80 euros . Don't get me wrong , the food was... More

We walked from the Seine to the end of Rue Monge looking Au Bon Coin. It was more than worth the trip. The quenelle was light and wonderful. My wife ordered Pate de Canard and Souris d'agneau. The lamb shank and pate were just "devine". I ordered my favorite, Ris de Veau which were the best I ever had.

Enjoyed the high quality lunch at Au Bon Coin on Tuesday afternoon. My wife ordered the veal with steamed and mashed potatoes. I ordered the fish with turnip strips and sliced truffles both were Plats. We both ordered the entree of broiled scallops with mashed cauliflower which was excellent. Excellent food and service. If you are looking for typical French cuisine in typical French environment, this is the place. I ate here with my wife on a short trip to Paris.

We came here following some positive comments read online and we were not disappointed. Good, easy going and simple but tasty and respectful of french tradition. We got the appertizer+plat+dessert for 19.90 and had: eggplant with ricotta and salad, roasted chicken with brussels sprouts and mushrooms and baked apple with hazelnut ice cream. The staff was very efficient and cordial... More

Arriving in Paris we chose to eat near us in the Latin quarter and chose au bon coin- a good choice based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were seated right away and just ordered wine and plates - both specials for the night at 21euro The duck breast was served on a bed of spinach with roasted figs - the largest... More

Oh how I love this place! If I could eat here every day, I would. The ingredients are fresh and always seasonal. They are excellently prepared in a simple yet delicious way. The menu changes quite regularly and is reasonably priced. The wait staff are efficient and friendly. An absolute must if you are in Paris!

This place delivers what these reviews promise. We tried to order different starters, but we all agreed that the fois gras was out of this world, so if you like fois gras you will get an exveptional experience here! Good service, and not too expencive. High quality food without being posh. Highly recommended.

We were a a group of friends that dropped by without reservation for lunch. The service was great and so was the ambiance. Not to mention how good the food was. It was excellent. I had the veal liver with some good wine. We sat at the Au Bon Coin for around 3 hours just enjoying ourselves.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
