On three different trips to Paris, we have gone 4 times. Wonderful food, excellent service. Monk fish is particularly good. Near our favorite Hotel d'Lambre.

I prefer always to go there, than to le Dome. The fish is always fantastic, the waiters very attentive, one has the feeling to be at home. Great value for money!

I can't agree more with the other reviews. This seafood restaurant is excellent. My family had oysters, skate, cod...all were very fresh and memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The desserts were just delicious. The reasonably priced wine we ordered was also very good. The neighborhood itself is worth an exploration after the meal (there is an excellent cheese... More

This is truly an excellent fish place. The oysters were delicious, small and refined in this season. The fish soup memorable. The herring as good as in the Baltic The following dishes were equally enjoyable with a special mention for the scallops risotto. Wonderful deserts and nice wines. Friendly service and a pleasant Parisian Bistrot atmosphere. We were not disappointed.

We chose this restaurant at the recommendation of friends. They have at least one meal here anytime they visit Paris. It was our best meal of the trip. We chose to go for lunch rather than dinner and we arrived early as we had not made reservations. This was a good choice as we may not have been able to... More

Bistrot du Dome shares with its 'big brother' the Dome the fresh fish coming from the Dome's fish market across the street. Preparations are simple but very well executed. A bit of a bustling environment with a neighborhood feel that gives the place a good atmosphere. While not cheap, it is not as expensive as other good fish restaurants and... More

The surroundings are indeed classic and maintained well, but the $15 kir royal price is steep, considering service is slow and it's not even the real restaurant

This was the best meal we had in Paris with the friendliest, most welcoming and accommodating staff who spoke perfect English and food that was truly exquisite in every sense of the word. We will be back.

We read about this restaurant in an article about Paris' top 10 bistros. And it did not disappoint. It was a mere two blocks from our hotel. I asked for a mild, white fish recommendation and took their suggestion to have the monkfish. Oh my! It absolutely melted in my mouth. No small bones. Exceptional, pleasant service, and definitely more... More

If you like fish, this is the ultimate Paris gem. Not much choice in oysters, the night I went, just one type but the offerings for fish was amazing: snapper, skate, tuna, and other types of Mediterranean and Atlantic fish; sauces were refined and didn't overwhelm the subtle fish flavors. Service is efficient, no nonsense and friendly. Deserts are not... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
