This restaurant is a delightful surprise to find in this area. As you enter from the street it is like taking a trip in a time machine. From contemporary Paris to turn of the century China. And we loved it. We dined here at the end of our five weeks touring Europe. Desperate for a change of food. We were... More

What a disappointment ! the retaurant was almost empty, the waiters rather unfriendly and the food was the worst we ever had in a chinese restaurant. Seemed like it was warmed up for the 5th time and when we left almost everything on the plates, the waiters took it without comment (they seemed to be used to that). Never again... More

We were the only customers eating there that night, meaning we had an over-abundance of attention...silent, hovering waiters (possibly undead?), gliding about, combined with the cavernous, 'Chinese-Gothic' interior lent a somewhat spooky atmosphere to the proceedings...Dim-sum starter then Cantonese roast duck and lamb with ginger and spring onion were tasty enough, but portions decidedly small; a dish of imperial scallops... The concierge desk at the Hilton told us this restaurant had good food so we decided to try it. After a quick 10 min walk we found it near the Opera area. There was only one other couple in the place, maybe that was a sign. A odd little waiter in a tux kept hovering over us and watching our... More

Third time we've been here, each time with Chinese relatives. They like it, and so do I. I had the Pekinese soup: very tasty, Thai chicken curry: pleasant with subtle flavours, and pork in pineapple: lovely. The others liked their dishes, which included duck and pork. The surroundings are pleasant, and the service good. Not the cheapest place -- but... More

Charming welcome at this typical Asian restaurant near l'Opera in Paris. Great dumplings, the duck was fabulous, gambas firm and spicy. Overall a great meal and attentive staff.

The Passy Mandarin is quite an elegant restaurant, with artificial flowers and Chinese ceramics and Chinese furniture. We went twice to this restaurant. The first time we ordered the almond chicken and a noodle dish. The second time we ordered the lemon chicken and a noodle dish. Both times we ordered a half bottle of wine. The average bill was... I ordered lamb with ginger and received chicken, assured by the server it was lamb. Rather than pursue it further I ate the chicken. Then when we received the bill there were charges for a plain rice at 3 euro and mixed rice at 6 euro when we had been told the rice was included with the plat. Very mediocre... More

So ruther usual place - as the most in a Paris. But Paris is the good place to stay calm and relax. Don't hurry in this city. It's not a New-York or Tokyo..

Okay. In a great city like Paris I know at this point that this is what one can find when one wants 'good Chinese/Asian cuisine'. Tse Yang..in the 8arr….I've been to all of them. After 3-4 nights of French food I need a fix of Asian which is why it is a shame that I use spend 70 euros for... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
