Open Mon - Friday. Good idea to book 01 42 76 00 40 In the Marais between Arts et Metiers and Rambuteau Metro stations. In a quiet side street. This restaurant has a limited menu and does serve some less than usual dishes (eg. horsemeat steak) The owner or a member of staff will explain (in English if you wish)... More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here this last week. The entire experience was great from start to finish. Some of the reviews mention the amount of time it takes to dine here. After a full day of sightseeing we welcomed the nice long evening. Sol was our waitress and very attentive, helpful, and very nice. The owner was... More

The setting is intimate and not touristy and the food was excellent. However, the waiter appeared to be the owner and chef, as well. This meant that the service was very slow. It took 30 minutes just to deliver our wine and we were at the table for nearly 3 hours by the time dessert was served. The horsemeat dish, once... More

This is a small restaurant, full of retro atmosphere, serving carefully , meticulously presented and delicious food. The central attractions are the horse meat dishes, but don't be put off, the other meats are delicious as well. The wine list is extremely well selected and nothing is over priced. The owner/chef/waiter is helpful and friendly. Don't miss it.

We enjoyed an incredible combination of very good rosé wine from Corsica, and very tasty and light home made tarama with toasted baguette. My friend followed up with good meat and chocolate cake and I had some fresh asparagus very well cooked. The ambiance in the restaurant was also very nice and we had great discussions with our neighbours -... More

I gave it four stars because I only tried the horse meat. I specifically went to this place to try it and it was incredibly good. I still can't believe how tender it was. It had a wonderful texture and was not gamey at all. Really a carnivorous dream. The place didn't strike me as a tourist -oriented place and... More

We really wanted to like Le Taxi Jaune - the small restaurant was very cool, the bartender/waiter was very friendly, attentive, and helpful, and we our apartment was only a few minutes away. The reviews that noted it was for the adventuresome diners were certainly correct. I had eggs and a sauce served in three sea urchin tests (see photo)... More

Very nice business dinner with the restaurant special dish: Horse meat. The horse charcuterie was delicious and the main dish of horse meat was tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. Service is very firefly and professional.

We went here last night and it was superb, Proper French resturant, might serve things you don't want to hear or see like horse... However plenty of other choice. Creative, fresh, quality and top service. Great location and old style resturant. Good value for money too, you cannot ask for much more. Highly recommend!

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
