We didn’t have plats because we weren’t very hungry but the entrees were amazing. The staff was also very accommodating. All in all would highly recommend

We stumbled upon this restaurant by pure chance, but boy were we glad! The staff, ambience and service was fabulous, most importantly the food is out of this world. Not cheap, but so worth it 😁

Typical bistro atmosphere, very good food, very nice wine in carafe too. Bit pricier than 'la pie noir' round the corner, but worth the extra in my view. Had the cheese ravioli to start, very tasty, and the sea bass for mains, two large portions...More

After a long day touring Paris, Le Petit Pontoise was such a delight. The staff were incredibly friendly, squeezed us in despite not having a reservation, and did so with a smile. Very forgiving at our poor attempts of French! We shared a bottle of...More

I had a standing invitation for dinner in Paris during a trade show. When asked what I preferred, I mentioned that I would like to try a Bistro Gourmet (some call it quite wrongfully Gourmand...). As I stayed near Place d'Italie and my business associate...More

We had this restaurant recommended by staff at the Notre Dame Cathedral. A little off the beaten path but well worth finding it. Flavors are amazing and varied. Not a "cheap eats" place, but a true gourmet experience. Everything is made on site...fresh and French....More

I dined here solo in December 2017 based on TA reviews. I made my reservation prior to leaving Australia via their website. The decor is like a typical french bistro and on a cold rainy Tuesday night was very inviting. I had the ravolli, followed...More

I have been coming to Le Petit Pontoise several times per year for almost 10 years now --- and I have never left disappointed. The owners over the years have all been very welcoming and accommodating. The menu, while largely unchanged, is varied enough to...More

Recommended strongly by an English colleague who has worked in Paris for a few years, this restaurant didn’t disappoint. With high expectations, which were exceeded, I couldn’t recommend Le Petite Pontoise enough. A cosy, bubbly atmosphere, excellent food, fine wine & tremendous service! Certainly couldn’t...More

As the bustling center of entertainment for the
residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon
never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional
cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets
surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide
eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just
next door and the prototypical terraced French
brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this

If you go for dinner early enough - you can get a table like we did. It got much busier as the night went on so a reservation is a good idea.

Le Petit Pontoise is a genuine institution of the 5th district in Paris. It offers typical rich French cuisine in a "bistrot" atmosphere. The chef has been there for over 14 years preparing sophisticated dishes with fresh season products. He finds his inspiration in the most traditional French recipes. Located right next to the Seine river near the Boulevard Saint-Germain, this bistrot is always fully booked, you will meet people from around the world as well as regular Parisian clients which enjoy this typical French cuisine.
